I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1038: Chapter 1037: Where’s the Promised Spooky Horror?

For an entire week, Hao Meili’s routine and behavior were unusually consistent, waking up at 2:30 every night to go for a walk, even more punctual than the elderly during their morning exercises!

But her condition would differ when she returned. If she came back before four, Hao Meili would still be that thing; if she returned a few minutes past four, she looked like she had just been pulled from the water.

Once, Luo Yirui inadvertently saw Hao Meili’s face pale, despair in her eyes.

So Luo Yirui came up with two guesses.

First, Hao Meili was aware of her peculiarity but didn’t know much about it, these peculiarities leaving her in despair.

Second, that thing seemed to be in a rush to do something; otherwise, it wouldn’t occasionally wait for Hao Meili to wake up herself.

What exactly is it doing?

He remembered his mother also mentioned that its appearance must have a purpose!

After the initial interaction with it, things seemed to proceed smoothly but moved in an even more eerie direction.

This eeriness was different from the previous strange occurrences.

For instance, when Luo Yirui got used to its behavior and didn’t plan to monitor everything, meaning he slept normally, he’d feel a creepy figure beside him, looking at him with a creepy smile.

Luo Yirui awoke with a start, and upon opening his eyes, saw those vertical pupils. It’s understandable what kind of shock this gave his little heart.

”What do you want!”

Luo Yirui was still a bit fearful at that moment.

”Want to chat for a while?”

Luo Yirui: ”???”

”Are you considered a young one among humans?”

Luo Yirui: ”???”

A young one... Ha, is it trying to understand the human world, then completely take over humanity?

”No, among humans, the smaller they appear, the longer they’ve lived.”

It paused for a moment, then asked, ”Opposite progress? Opposite to what?”

Luo Yirui wanted to slap himself; he meant opposite to the normal human progression, but if it doesn’t know, then this wouldn’t make sense, like shooting himself in the foot!

It looked at Luo Yirui’s expression and sneered, ”You’re lying to me! Ha, you’re dead!”

Then it went back to its room.

That day, Luo Yirui was on guard the entire day, feeling like he was definitely doomed, but come night...

The creepy figure appeared like a phantom.

”Get up, let’s chat for a while.”

Luo Yirui: ”...”

Did this guy grab the wrong script? Or did it end up on the wrong set? What’s with this different kind of eeriness?

As for what to chat about, do you believe it’s just idle chatter?

However, during the conversations, Luo Yirui sensed its curiosity about humans, that kind of novelty when discovering something new.

Could it be, it had never interacted with humans before?

This doesn’t quite add up logically; if it has a purpose here, it suggests there are probably humans controlling it behind the scenes, so why does it now seem like it hasn’t interacted with humans before?

Luo Yirui could feel it was genuinely curious, in other words, hadn’t interacted much with humans before, although it wasn’t easy to deceive, its questions were very basic.

After just a week of encounters, he’s getting more speechless; wasn’t it supposed to be creepy and terrifying?

But Luo Yirui remained cautious. It’s still an unidentified being, or is it even a being? He completely didn’t understand its background, so he couldn’t afford to trust it easily.

This issue, he must inform his mother about.
