While I am in Reality, I Can Enter the Singularity Universe

120: Chapter 120 The Extraordinary Man with a Buddha’s Body and a Demonic Shadow! The Gods Emerge from the Pantheon! The monks’ feet seemed to have catapults installed, and they hurriedly ran over; besides piety, there was also intense fanaticism on their faces.

To be a monk in the ancient temple where Shakyamuni Buddha attained enlightenment, putting aside greed for money and power, at least in terms of Buddhist scriptures and teachings, they were quite strong, having stood out among hundreds of contenders.

There were fewer than twenty of them, and within a few short days, they were all uniformly at the [E-Rank] Realm.

But to their surprise, as they were about to approach the Twelve-Faced Pagoda, a layer of faint mist blocked their path.

”Junior Brother, wait!”

”What is it? The Buddha has descended; we need to hurry to pay our respects!”

A fat monk with an ancient Indian face was about to step across the faint mist, but unexpectedly, his arm was grabbed by his Senior Brother beside him.

The fat monk looked slightly displeased, thinking that his Senior Brother wanted to take the lead to prevent him from seizing the opportunity first.

The Senior Brother had extraordinary strength; he saw this but did not take it to heart. He carefully examined the faint mist for a while before turning to the other monks and saying in a grave voice:

”This layer of faint mist is filled with terrifying killing power. If you rush in blindly, you will die instantly!”

”Senior Brother, are you joking? This is the holy moment of the Buddha’s descent; how could there be the aura of Karmic Obstruction here!?”

The fat monk’s face was full of disbelief.

He also possessed [E-Rank] strength; how could he not sense a shred of danger from the faint mist?

”Amitabha, your Senior Brother is right; this layer of faint mist prevents life from entering.”

An old monk with white eyebrows, who looked like he was here to save all living beings, spoke up.

This was Great Master Huiji, their Master, and also the head abbot of this ancient temple.

Great Master Huiji was gifted and intelligent, with profound knowledge of Buddhism, and held a very high status in interpreting scriptures in ancient India and global Buddhism.

There were people in Buddhism who had suggested including Great Master Huiji in the ranks of the ”Ancestral Master” so that he could enjoy the incense offerings of the followers.

Although Great Master Huiji declined on the grounds of insufficient virtue, it indirectly showed that his Buddhist teachings were so strong that they rivaled those of ”Chen Xuanzang,” who had traveled thousands of miles from the East to ancient India to seek the true scriptures over a thousand years ago.

That is, the prototype character for Tang Sanzang in ”Journey to the West.”

In Buddhism, the one who was half a step ahead of Chen Xuanzang was ”Bodhidharma,” the founder of the Shaolin Zen sect.

As for those above Bodhidharma, they were the Arhat Protectors of Mount Ling.

Above them were the well-known Guanyin Bodhisattva, Ksitigarbha, Maitreya Bodhisattva, and so on.

”Disciple understands.”

Seeing Great Master Huiji speak, the fat monk bowed and responded, not daring to act presumptuously again.

However, when he lowered his head, a trace of hard-to-detect black light flashed in his eyes.

Great Master Huiji glanced at the fat monk with a meaningful look, then ignored him and addressed the monks with his hands pressed together:

”Amitabha, the path ahead is blocked; we shall chant scriptures outside the faint mist to congratulate the Buddha on his return from the Pure Land.”

”As you command!”

The monks’ eyes were filled with fanaticism, and they responded with their hands pressed together.

On the large balcony of the homestay.

Jiang Jin watched the events unfolding inside the ancient temple from thousands of miles away across time and space.

”This fat monk has something going on; is this the rhythm of turning dark?”

”No, this isn’t turning dark... it’s that he has Awakening a dark-type Innate ability!!”

Jiang Jin felt a bit curious and clicked his tongue, saying:

”On the realistic ’Mount Ling,’ there is a monk who saves all living beings but is born a demon?”

”Interesting, truly very interesting.”

”I wonder if, when Shakyamuni Buddha emerges, he will be so shocked and angry to find a black demon in his courtyard that he suddenly erupts?”

He couldn’t help but sigh, ”It really fits that saying, Buddha and demon are but a moment apart.”
