Investiture of the Gods Xiao Sheng, the Poor Taoist Priest, Even Rogue Cultivators Have Human Rights

Chapter 122 Heaven's Calculation! Revealing the Real Reason Why Hou Tu Failed to Attain the DaoChapter 122 Heaven’s Calculation! Revealing the Real Reason Why Hou Tu Failed to Attain the Dao!

Hou Tu sighed softly, and she said solemnly: ”In those ancient times, our preparations were indeed thorough. Each ancestor witch contributed a drop of his or her own spiritual blood, supplemented by most of the essence in Pangu’s blood sea, thus forging a flawless ancestor witch’s true body. As long as my soul can be promoted to the holy realm, I can reside in this body and become a true sage.”

”However, unfortunately, we were plotted against by the Heavenly Dao. It used the innate human blood to taint that body, turning it into Chi You, the thirteenth ancestor of the witch clan. Although Chi You is gifted, this only ancestor witch’s true body no longer belongs to me, so I can’t use it to achieve enlightenment.”

After hearing this, Xiao Sheng fell silent. He understood why Hou Tu failed.

He seemed to be able to see the scene at that moment: under the pressure of Heaven, even though they knew they were no match, the Wu Clan still fought bravely and launched a world-shaking battle with the Demon Clan, and once gained the upper hand. But at the crucial moment, Heaven’s calculations quietly came, and all their plans were destroyed, and the huge Wu Clan disappeared.

The blood flowing in his body trembled slightly, as if he heard the unwilling roars of the ancient witches coming from ancient times.

Those creatures fought with all their might, but ultimately they were defeated by fate.

”Is there still a way to help you be reborn?” Xiao Sheng asked in a low voice. He had formed a deep bond with Hou Tu because of the fusion of Pangu’s essence and blood, and he didn’t want to see her die.

”There is no hope anymore.” Hou Tu smiled calmly. At this moment, her attitude was extremely open-minded, as if she had already seen through everything.

”If I really want to be resurrected, I need to find a body. In the vast wilderness today, only you who have absorbed Pangu’s blood can meet the requirements.”

”But how can I take your body? If I do so, you will surely die.”

”Since the Wu Clan has disappeared, let them quietly disappear in the long river of history. We have been here and fought, and we have no regrets.”

For any living being in the prehistoric world, embarking on the path of becoming a saint is an irresistible temptation, especially becoming a genuine Taoist ancestor and standing shoulder to shoulder with Hongjun. However, Hou Tu at this moment did not have the slightest obsession with this.

It can be said that deep in her heart, she is filled with the purest kindness, which is the fundamental reason why she can reincarnate. Only a great soul with kindness and compassion can transform into the six reincarnations, cleanse the karma of all sentient beings in the world, and maintain the balance of the whole world.

Xiao Sheng was silent, and a wave of emotion welled up in his heart. In this primitive world where the strong prey on the weak, he had experienced too many intrigues and deceptions, and such pure kindness was rare.

”I sense that the evil spirit in the prehistoric world is becoming increasingly strong, which indicates that an unprecedented catastrophe will break out again soon. Its scale may even surpass the war between the witches and liches back then.”

”If the catastrophe comes, you can come to the underworld where I am. I will be there to protect your peace for a while.” Houtu laughed softly again.

Xiao Sheng responded softly: ”However, how long can you protect me? After a thousand years, you will completely disappear.”

Hou Tu was stunned for a moment. She didn’t expect Xiao Sheng to ask this question so directly. She was a little confused for a moment.

In the abyss of the netherworld, Xiao Sheng smiled calmly and said, ”Just wait here. When I return, I will bring you an adventure that will shock the three worlds.”

Hou Tu smiled and shook her head, ”What kind of adventure can you give me?”

She had long seen through Xiao Sheng’s cultivation, which had reached the level of Chaos Golden Immortal. Looking at the entire prehistoric world, there were only a handful of people with such cultivation. However, even if a great sage came to the netherworld in person, he could not change her fate, let alone a Chaos Golden Immortal.

”Wait.” Xiao Sheng smiled, and his figure disappeared in the boundless dark void and returned to Huangzhou.
