Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Many important naval high-ranking officials showed up to witness this historic moment together - the launching ceremony of the domestically-made large missile destroyer!
Lin Chenran accompanied a group of Yan State naval leaders, and from time to time introduced to them the Aegis missile destroyers that were carefully designed, developed and manufactured by his own 704 Shipyard.

He explained every detail in detail, from the ship structure to the weapons and equipment, to the electronic system.

The Yan Nation’s naval leaders listened very carefully, nodded frequently in agreement, with strange lights flashing in their eyes.

At this moment, their hearts were filled with anticipation and pride.

For the Yan State Navy, this moment was hard-won.

For many years, they have longed to have their own advanced warships, but have never been able to do so.

Now, they have finally welcomed the entry of their own large warships, which is undoubtedly a huge breakthrough.

”Mr. Lin, thank you very much for your 704 Shipyard for designing and developing such an outstanding missile destroyer for our navy.” A senior naval official of Yan Country excitedly shook Lin Chenran’s hand and expressed his gratitude sincerely.

Lin Chenran smiled and responded: ”This is what we should do. We feel extremely honored to contribute to the country’s coastal defense. We hope that this missile destroyer can become a powerful assistant to the navy and safeguard the security of the motherland’s sea borders.”

Lin Chenran behaved very humbly. He knew very well that the senior naval officer in front of him was an old revolutionary of the same generation as his grandfather. Therefore, he showed respect and honor to the other party as a junior.

Next is the important item of the launching ceremony of the Aegis missile destroyer.

“Throw the bottle!!!”

Lin Chenran signaled several bigwigs from the Yan State military to come forward to perform the ”bottle-breaking” ceremony and lift the red cloth.

And I have retreated to the second line!
The Yan Country’s naval leaders did not shirk their responsibilities and stepped forward to take action.

When the red cloth was lifted, the first Aegis missile destroyer (052D) was named: Linjiang, codenamed 077
This is to recognize the contribution of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal to this Aegis missile destroyer.

At first, the Yan State Navy used 077 as the sequence of the Aegis missile destroyer, but Lin Chenran refused.

He felt that designing, developing and manufacturing an excellent missile destroyer for the country was what their military workers should do.

Well deserved!

However, the military leaders of Yan State unanimously felt that they deserved it and it was what they deserved!

The 077 Mechanical Arsenal has made important contributions to the renewal of Yan Country’s armaments.

This is not only Lin Chenran’s personal honor, but also the honor of all employees of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal.

Since all the Yan State military leaders said so, Lin Chenran could only accept it.

And all the employees of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal truly deserve it.

……

The first Aegis missile destroyer has been launched, and the next step is to discuss the launching of subsequent warships.
