Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 753: Chapter 753: Looks Like It’s Time to Spank You Again

Yunyi playfully said, ”I know you’re worried about me, but it’s really just a sprain, nothing serious. I’ll make my ointment, and I’ll be up and about by tomorrow.”

Huo Jingrui really couldn’t do anything with her, so he reached out and poked her forehead with his finger, ”I’ll take leave for you soon, anyway, we’re getting married in a few days. I think you should rest well. What do you think?”

Yunyi shook her head, ”Others get three days off for their wedding, I shouldn’t take too much time.”

Huo Jingrui insisted, ”No, listen to me this time.”

Seeing his determined stance, Yunyi thought that since they would leave after the college entrance exam anyway, ”Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

Huo Jingrui’s mouth curled into a smile, ”That’s the order, I’ll go take leave for you now.”

After saying that, he quickly went out, fearing Yunyi would change her mind, and he instructed his sister to take good care of Yunyi.

Huo Jiayuan said with some envy, ”Fourth Sister-in-law, my Fourth Brother really cares about you.”

Yunyi teased, ”He’s afraid I’ll be a cripple on the day of the banquet and he’ll lose face.”

Huo Jiayuan laughed out loud, ”Sister-in-law, if my brother hears this, he might spank you.”

That comment made Yunyi’s face instantly blush.

The reason is that during the hot days, she ate ice cream while on her period, and Huo Jingrui caught her red-handed. Fearing punishment, Huo Jingrui lightly spanked her twice, which Huo Jiayuan witnessed.

It was incredibly awkward at the time.

Yunyi glared at Huo Jiayuan, ”You just wait, the next time I see Lu Licheng, I’ll have a good talk with him.”

Huo Jiayuan sat down next to Yunyi in an appeasing manner, ”Come on, Fourth Sister-in-law, forgive me. I promise I won’t bring up that incident again, okay?”

Seeing her expression, Yunyi couldn’t help but laugh, ”You said it.”

Huo Jiayuan reached out to tickle Yunyi, and the two of them began to laugh and play together.

Huo Jingrui returned to see this cheerful scene.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Granny Qi acted like a child caught doing something wrong, accepting Qi Guoqing’s re-education, ”Mom, we’ve only just moved into the family compound, and you’ve already caused trouble. Do you know that Vice Factory Director Huo has an unusual background? Do you know Doctor Chu’s medical skills are as good as the doctors in the city’s big hospitals? I wanted to take Shu Yue to see them for help, but after this incident, how can I dare take Shu Yue to see them?”

Granny Qi was feeling remorseful, but she still argued, ”If they hadn’t refused my cornmeal buns, none of this would have happened?”

Qi Guoqing was somewhat angry, ”Do they lack your cornmeal buns?”

Just then, Qi Guoqing’s eldest son walked over, saying to his dad, ”Grandma wanted to trade cornmeal buns for meat.”

As soon as the words came out, Granny Qi couldn’t cover her grandson’s mouth in time and immediately lowered her head like a quail.

She sneaked a few glances at her son’s face and then whispered, ”I was wrong, I won’t do that again. Besides, I took the new cornmeal buns over, not to eat Vice Factory Director Huo’s meat for free.”

The comment made Qi Guoqing laugh in anger, ”You think they’re foolish, trying to trade buns for their meat, you really dare to think.”

He got up and took out a can of malt essence he’d brought from the city, ”Come on, let’s go visit Vice Factory Director Huo’s house. I’m warning you, don’t mess things up again. I have no way back now, unless you’re not afraid to go back to the countryside with me and farm, then go ahead and stir things up.”
