Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 605: Chapter 605: Cut the Crap and Get Over Here to Help

Huo Jingrui thought for a moment, and what Yunyi said made some sense: ”We’ll assess the situation when we get there. If the person meeting Zhong Liyuan hasn’t arrived yet, then we’ll knock out those three first and wait for the contact to show up.”

Yunyi pondered a bit; it was indeed a plan. Pretending they fell asleep from exhaustion could work.

Having made their plans, the two of them left the space together.

Listening to their voices, they followed closely behind.

When they reached the place, Yunyi quietly asked, ”Could this be the cave Zhang Dali mentioned? Last time, I wandered around but couldn’t find it. I didn’t have the chance to check this side.”

Huo Jingrui wasn’t sure either, but he said, ”It’s possible.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Yunyi made a silencing gesture and whispered to Huo Jingrui, ”Someone’s coming.”

Soon, they saw a few people hurrying over, and upon seeing Zhong Liyuan, ”Oh, this time you actually brought people?”

Zhong Liyuan’s expression wasn’t pleasant: ”Cut the crap and help out.”

Yunyi and Huo Jingrui exchanged a glance, knowing their original plan wouldn’t work. Just dealing with Zhong Liyuan was manageable, but now three more accomplices had arrived. It was impossible to knock them all out; they needed to listen to what they were planning to act accordingly.

The clueless man from before, who lacked tact, said, ”Since the people are here, shouldn’t we get paid?”

Zhong Liyuan hadn’t originally thought of them, but upon hearing this voice, he pulled out a gun from behind and aimed it at the man’s leg, ready to shoot.

The man, never having seen such a scene, was scared to the point of wetting himself.

With a cry, he trembled and said, ”No, no, I don’t want it. We’ll leave right now.”

Zhong Liyuan eyed him with amusement: ”Leave? You’re daydreaming.”

Just as he was about to finish him off, someone stopped him: ”Come on, at a time like this, you’re always so impulsive. If the gun goes off and the patrol hears it, it’ll ruin the plan.”

The man who spoke looked at the two trembling men, then told Zhong Liyuan, ”Let’s wait for the boss. We might still have use for them, better to deal with it at the end.”

Hearing their conversation, Yunyi and Jingrui finally breathed a sigh of relief, knowing those two were temporarily safe. Still, they thought they deserved it for taking on any job for money.

Watching them carry the sacks into the cave, Yunyi and Huo Jingrui found the nearest tree to the cave and climbed up together.

Yunyi glanced back at the path: ”I wonder when the reinforcements will arrive, and if they’ll understand the signs you left.”

There was a tree branch suitable for sitting and leaning on, so he placed Yunyi there: ”Don’t worry, it won’t be long before they find us.”

As Huo Jingrui predicted, it wasn’t long before they heard rustling sounds; the armed forces and the police had arrived.

Huo Jingrui instructed Yunyi to stay in the tree: ”Be careful. I’ll go meet them.”

After receiving Yunyi’s response, he jumped down and headed toward where the others were.

Not long after they scattered and hid, they saw someone fully armed arrive at the cave entrance.

Huo Jingrui recognized the person immediately: ”Huang Yibang, it’s really him.”

Yunyi quickly whispered, ”You’ve seen this person before?”
