Chapter 479: Chapter 263: Got it, Gary has evolved too.The F Block of the Thirteen District is home to a rising underground power called the Taigong Dynasty, right?

Plus, there are other old-established forces entrenched in the DE Blocks that are equally eager to make a move...

The public security in the Thirteen District being good would be strange.

It’s already quite an accomplishment that Tang Hexun has managed to maintain order as it is now.

”What’s wrong? Do you suspect I’ve been swayed by the Seks Group?” Gary quickly picked up on Jiang Shu’s thoughts and snorted disdainfully, ”I could never condescend to associate with the filth from the Three Major Groups. The way the Thirteen District has become is largely due to their meddling.”

”Hmm?” Jiang Shu turned his gaze towards Gary.

”Deflecting the conflict,” Gary’s reply was succinct, and then he seemed ready to get to the point, ”As for Mr. Jiang, there is another matter I’d like to consult you about.”

”Speak.” Jiang Shu listened attentively.

”The police believe that I randomly disseminate my contact information, then the victims inform me of their grievances, and finally, I help them take their revenge. But in reality, this isn’t the case,” Gary began, catching Jiang Shu off guard.

Actually, Jiang Shu also thought so; it was the most logical situation.

”Not like this? Then how do you do it?” Jiang Shu probed further.

”First understand the victim, confirm their grievance, and then convey the real contact details to them by a seemingly accidental method,” Gary continued to explain, ”Apart from the victims I verify, the contact information everyone else receives is fake.”

”So, you’re saying that after confirming their grievance, you don’t directly help them take revenge, but rather require the victims to ask for help themselves?” Jiang Shu grasped Gary’s meaning.

”Exactly,” Gary nodded in affirmation, ”Not only that, I also bring the victims face to face with their aggressors to resolve it themselves. If they don’t have the will to resist, then anything I do for them is pointless.”

In the end, he articulated his principle with one line: ”The one to kill the aggressor must be driven by the victim’s own intense desire to kill.”

”So then, what are you implying?” Jiang Shu had an inkling, but he didn’t voice it; instead, he continued to ask.

Gary just smiled, the orange light hitting his white teeth and reflecting a cold gleam.

”Exactly, based on that, and considering the police’s odd behavior today, I’ve guessed what Police Chief Tang Hexun is planning.” After his on-site investigation, Gary was virtually certain of his deduction, ”Does he intend to use the person I’ve selected to lure me out?”

”Hmm.” Since that was the case, Jiang Shu didn’t deny it. Previously, he only reminded Gary that the police wanted to deal with him, without specifying what they were going to do, and now Gary had guessed it.

Indeed, once darkened, Gary’s intellect had sharpened significantly.

So Jiang Shu counter-asked, ”Then you’re going into hiding for a while? As for me...what do you plan to do with me?”

Whether to let go or to detain, both were troublesome.

”I will let you go,” Gary answered without hesitation, ”You can leave tomorrow morning.”

Then he continued, his face showing determination and edge.

It wasn’t until now that he truly resembled the Rift that stirred trouble in the Thirteen District, rather than the vulnerable Gary that he had shown to acquaintances in the past.

”I ask you to keep what happened tonight a secret,” Rift went on to say, ”I won’t go into hiding. As long as that victim seeks my help, I will assist in their revenge, help them slay their enemy themselves.”

”As long as the victim doesn’t flee, then neither will I.”

”As for you, Mr. Jiang, no matter which side you choose to help, I won’t harm you.”

Rift looked back at Jiang Shu; at this moment, Gary’s dual identities and personalities seemed to be gradually merging within him.

Great, Gary too had evolved.
