The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 461 - 256: Daily Teaching of Magic Construction_3
Chapter 461: Chapter 256: Daily Teaching of Magic Construction_3”Ultimately, the core of this magic trick resides in shrinking ’three letters’ and duplicating them into four. Upon closer consideration, this isn’t difficult to grasp, and anyone could achieve it.

For example, take the number ’1,’ cut it into four sections, and you’ll obtain four small ’1’s.

This is the principle.

On the side of a deck of cards, write ’LTR,’ then deal the cards into four piles one by one—the letters above will also split into four.

Everything else, like the choice of words and the sequence order, are methods Su Xiaoou employs to befuddle the audience’s vision.

And this is precisely where points were deducted.

’It’s a fully automatic magic trick, but you haven’t effectively isolated the magic process from the audience itself,’ said Jiang Shu.

’What do you mean?’ Su Xiaoou had been studying magic for a while, but she still found this somewhat unclear.

Jiang Shu patiently explained, ’Look, the advantage of fully automatic magic lies in the magician barely intervening. However, a clear disadvantage emerges if no ’barriers’ are set up within the process, as the audience will attempt to mimic the performance, giving them a bit of time, and they’d figure it out themselves.’

’It seems... that’s true.’ Su Xiaoou was also slightly taken aback; she had not considered this.

’Exactly, so you must add some ’barriers’ within these processes to prevent them from trying to copy. Then, even such a simple principle would elude them,’ Jiang Shu nodded and then shook his head, ’I’ve thought about it, and this magic principle, in fact, isn’t suitable for such a fully automatic format. It’s best performed face-to-face.’

’So what should I do?’ the eagerness for new knowledge sparkled in Su Xiaoou’s eyes.

When studying, having a teacher guide through a complete major question is the quickest way to progress.

’Firstly, the ending, you could do it like this.’ Jiang Shu grabbed two stacks from the four stacks of cards in front of him, and a perfect shuffle restored them to one stack.

Graph.

And the side of that stack of cards, ’LTR’ also turned into a neat single one.

Next is combining the other two stacks, at this point his hands transformed into two stacks of cards.

On the side, ’LTR’ also changed from four to two.

Still a perfect shuffle, eventually leaving only one deck of cards, and ’LTR’ also turned into the sole one.

’Furthermore, the whole magic trick’s spiel is also not sufficiently outstanding. You can compare the split into four as a form of ’multiple personality disorder,’ and the final merge into one symbolizes the integration of multiple personalities, indicating the complexity of human nature,’ recounted Jiang Shu, casually crafting an excellent and philosophical argument, then pointing to the deck in his hands, ’When the process reaches the point where the audience writes down these letters, you can use an Indian false shuffle to slightly shuffle the order of this deck.’

Fake shuffle diagram.

He demonstrated once; at this moment, the side of the playing cards showed a discontinuity of the letters, completely obscuring the letter pattern of ’LTR,’ but after several cuts, ’LTR’ was restored to its original form.

’After such a fake shuffle, the audience will no longer harbor ideas of mimicking the magic,’ Jiang Shu continued, ’Next, when you deal the cards, you can keep the lettered side hidden on your side, letting the audience choose where the next card goes. Trust me, their reactions will be even more intense after the four piles are dealt, because it’s something they completely cannot comprehend.’

’So that’s how it is.’ Su Xiaoou blinked; her quick understanding was enlightened by his explanations.

’Well, overall, it’s still not bad,’ Jiang Shu continued, the innovation in this magic principle was already excellent, it just could be performed better, ’Your level should be sufficient; in a few days, the TV program with me, you should come along.’

’Eh?’”
