The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 236 - 170 Wildfire and Lovers_3
Chapter 236: Chapter 170 Wildfire and Lovers_3In the second round, Jiang Shu had the seven of spades; Liu Tingruo, the king of clubs.

”Do you remember that day? The day we met; you lived in Zone A and I in Zone F. How did you find me?” Jiang Shu asked, a question that had puzzled him for a long time.

”I was just... hungry that day,” Liu Tingruo fell into her memories, ”I heard there was a dessert shop in Zone F with limited-edition pudding, so I thought I’d check it out.”

”But they were sold out, and as I was walking along the road, I suddenly smelled something delicious.” Liu Tingruo continued, ”I followed the scent and found you there, grilling fish.”

A gentle smile unconsciously appeared on her face, and Jiang Shu was momentarily stunned by her expression.

”Right?” Liu Tingruo flicked his forehead.

”It seems that did happen.” Jiang Shu nodded, remembering now.

There had been a street stall grilling fish, and he could tell at a glance that the owner had no prior catering experience. So he approached, won the owner over with his skills, and ended up minding the stall for an afternoon.

Then Sister Ruo came by, and without saying much, she asked him,

”Come with me, help me cook.”

He thought she meant helping in a restaurant, but it turned out she was taking him to her house...

Jiang Shu wondered how a single woman dared to do this, then he saw Ding Eight and Ding Five fully armed.

Things were clearer now, but it still seemed a bit too coincidental.

And he hadn’t encountered such a thing in his past life.

Could it have been the good karma from his past life?

Looking at the woman in front of him, so perfect she seemed unreal, Jiang Shu felt maybe he really had earned some good karma in his past life.

”Continue.” He pushed the cards forward.

”I don’t want to play anymore.” Liu Tingruo suddenly gathered up the cards, ”I just wanted to know that.”

Jiang Shu: ”...”

”What? Any objections?” Liu Tingruo raised her face, ”Just...?”

”No, no, let’s go.” Jiang Shu quickly cut her off, but a new question arose in his heart.

If she only wanted to know about that incident, they could have stopped after the first round.

With Sister Ruo’s personality, she wasn’t the type to win and then run.

That meant she had suddenly changed her mind.

Like...

Like something she was supposed to let go suddenly became unlettable.

...

Jiang Shu suppressed the doubts in his heart, walked over to her, and forcibly pulled her up, ”Enough rest, let’s go to the rooftop.”

”Don’t pull me.” Liu Tingruo pushed his hand away, then straightened her hair and adjusted her dress before taking his hand and moving towards the spiral staircase.

Reaching the top floor, there were several people scattered about, mostly couples.

These couples held hands, standing in front of the large windows, gazing at the sunset.

Jiang Shu led her to a window where, like the other ordinary couples, they allowed the sunlight to fall upon them.

The clouds on the horizon transitioned from remote pink-purple to a nearer golden red, encircling and lifting the central orange sun.

The sunset gradually spread and blurred, merging with the clouds—or perhaps the clouds were merging into the sunset—at which point they intertwined, indistinguishable from one another.

The deep orange sunlight stroked Liu Tingruo’s face, tracing the golden outlines.

At the edge of the platform, clouds billowed and dawn shimmered, the beautiful woman standing as if detached from the world.

Liu Tingruo watched the sunset and murmured, ”It’s beautiful.”

Jiang Shu stood beside her, looking into her eyes where the clouds billowed and dawn shimmered, and where there was the glow of the morning and the stars, the rise of the day and the rest at dusk.

Standing slightly behind her, watching her enveloped in the sunset’s radiance, Jiang Shu smiled and said, ”Yes, it’s beautiful.”
