The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Jiang Shu felt slightly relieved, maybe he was overthinking it. He sent them messages separately: ”Be safe, don’t leave the theater (dormitory), report to me every hour, record yourself and your surroundings.”

Shen Xuwan: Will do.

Su Xiaoou: Got it, got it.

”Jiang Shu?” Wolf called out to him.

”Uh-huh, listening.” Jiang Shu responded, ”I’m worried they might go after other people close to me, just reminding Shen Xuwan and Su Xiaoou.”

”Shen Xuwan? People close to you?” Wolf’s wide eyes blinked in confusion. He glanced at Kirie sitting beside Jiang Shu and gave an admiring look.

”Shen Xuwan has come to Black Currant, you didn’t know?” Jiang Shu asked in confusion, ”Didn’t I tell you?”

”No.” Wolf shook his head quickly, ”She’s in Black Currant now? Oh, I see.”

”What do you see?” Jiang Shu still didn’t follow Wolf’s cryptic talk.

But Wolf shook his head again, ”Thought I understood, but feels like I didn’t.”

”...” Jiang Shu was speechless, ”Stop talking nonsense, keep discussing the case.”

”Oh.” Wolf then continued, ”I plan to go to Thirteen District tomorrow, you...”

”I’m coming too, but after tomorrow’s variety show.” Jiang Shu considered for a moment, ”Is going to Thirteen District urgent? I think, it’s better to catch these three Disciples in Seventh District first. Having three people with ill intentions lurking around makes me uneasy.”

”That works.” Wolf nodded, ”I will personally lead a team to check this lead tomorrow.”

Jiang Shu felt a bit more relieved, Wolf’s abilities in investigating cases were trustworthy; it was only because there had never been Deception cases before that they were unprepared.

”Check around me, their initial target was me. They wouldn’t have traveled all the way to Seventh District just to give up easily.” He added this to ensure Wolf would help clear nearby dangers; he didn’t want Shen Xuwan or Su Xiaoou to be kidnapped again...

While it would look cool to fight them off, it was really tiring.

”Sure.” Wolf said, the steak had just been served, and he cut a big piece and stuffed it into his mouth.

The three then stopped talking and focused on the food on their plates.

In the afternoon, Jiang Shu followed Kirie, under the guise of fire service work, into Lonely City’s Seventh TV Station, started surveying the terrain, measuring data, and preparing to set up for tomorrow.

Just as previously gathered information indicated, the live studio of Entertainment First Line was at the top of the TV station building.

The interior of the live studio was not small, with the capacity to hold about three hundred people, with spacious seats and aisles. In the northwest corner of the studio, there was also a huge floor-to-ceiling window.

Jiang Shu walked onto the stage, measured his steps, and then gestured by himself, pointing at a spot in front of him, asking Kirie, ”Can I put the altar here?”

”Move it a bit further.” Kirie estimated the distance, then added, ”The monster will be about seven meters long, so be careful, no one should be too close to it.”

”Understood.” Jiang Shu nodded.
