The system takes me to fly

Chapter 106 The plan to fight poison with poison

Seeing Xu Yi come back, Mr. Yan asked Xu Yi to come over and observe the prescriptions prescribed by everyone.

”Xu Yi, come and take a look.”

Sitting next to the master, Xu Yi carefully watched the prescriptions prescribed by the old men, and compared with the knowledge he had learned.

”Did you notice the difference?” Elder Yan asked Xu Yi after looking at it.

”These three cards all add a slightly poisonous medicinal material, and this one has three times the weight of the three medicinal materials.”

The last one that Xu Yi pointed out was Xi Laokai’s prescription, in which the proportion of winter flowers, spring withered grass, and osmanthus jelly was tripled.

”Then tell me, why do we prescribe such a prescription?”

Mr. Yan was very pleased that Xu Yi was able to pick out the differences in a short period of time, and added another small problem for him.

”Hmm... Dongshenghua is non-toxic in itself. It is a daily skin care medicinal material in winter, but it has the side effect of skin hyperplasia when used too much; Chunkucao also has this side effect, and it can speed up the healing of wounds when taken infrequently; Guizhen Glue, scalded with hot water until softened, applied to the chapped area can effectively protect the cracks.”

”As for the red string lotus, it has the effect of treating sores and scars. Although it is poisonous, it is harmless as long as it does not enter the stomach. It can be added to the prescription. I guess it can resist the desertification of a trace of ’fine sand’ symptom.”

Xu Yi expressed all his opinions, and in the process, he received admiring glances from the old men.

”I heard from Mr. Yan that you have only studied medicine for less than two years, and you never thought you knew all about medicinal materials. It’s really scary for young people.”

Mr. Ren sighed. There are many kinds of herbs in Chinese medicine. Generally speaking, beginners often have to study for several years to become familiar with most of the properties of herbs.

　”Uh……”

Xu Yi covered his face, embarrassed and didn’t know what to say. Most of his knowledge came from Yao Wang’s memory, and the knowledge he learned himself accounted for about [-]% of it.

After all, he is a beginner who has been studying for more than a year, and he is also a wild doctor who has become a monk halfway, so he will only feel guilty about the compliments from the old men.

”Hahaha, don’t praise him, my disciple is relatively restrained, and I can’t stand the praise.” Yan Lao laughed and relieved Xu Yi’s embarrassment.

”Tsk tsk, it’s really a master-student relationship.” It was sour, and it was obvious that it was Mr. Zheng who was saying sour words again with jealousy.

”You old man, you’re talking nonsense again.”

Even though he was used to the sour words that old man Zheng uttered from time to time, Mr. Yan still wanted to spit on this little old man and tell him to stop thinking about other people’s apprentices and hurry up to find an inheritance disciple by himself.

”In this case, it seems that the formula that can effectively suppress the disease of ’Xisha’ requires the addition of slightly poisonous medicinal materials.” Mr. Xi said thoughtfully.

”Not only slightly poisonous herbs, I think more toxic herbs can also be added.”

Mr. Zheng opened his mouth to express his thoughts. He has always been bold in using medicines to save lives, and he also uses slightly controversial prescriptions on weekdays.

Other masters of traditional Chinese medicine are more conservative, and will only choose to add heavy medicine unless it is a last resort.

”Old man Zheng’s suggestion is good, but how to prevent poisonous injury is a difficult point.” Old Yan stroked his beard to find out a problem in Old Man Zheng’s mind, and asked everyone to think about how to solve it.

Fighting poison with poison, if there are no protective measures, may make the patient’s condition worse and be infected by two poisons at the same time.

　……

During the discussion, several ideas were rejected after they were put forward. The old men had limited energy, and they could not solve the problem immediately after a while, so they slowly lay back on the bed to recharge their batteries.

　”Fighting poison with poison...”

Xu Yi stood guard beside Master’s bed, propped his chin and murmured.
