Madam’s Identities Shocks the Entire City Again

Chapter 3757: Her Majesty, We Didn’t Know The Boss Behind It Beforehand

Luke tidied up the documents on the table and calmly asked, “What do you mean, Empress?”

“Heh! At this point, do you still want to play dumb with me?”

Luke understood why she was looking for him. He folded the documents and put them back in the cabinet. Then, he turned around and sat down calmly. “Her Majesty, are you talking about the chips?”

Nie Qingru placed her hand on the desk and looked at him with a burning gaze. “Why did you stab me in the back? Give me a reason.”

Luke said bluntly, “We didn’t know who the boss of that company was. Come to think of it, we only learned that person’s identity an hour before you did.”

“You didn’t know…” This reason was really ridiculous.

Nie Qingru sneered mercilessly. “You really didn’t know!”

Her gaze was as sharp as a blade as it scanned Luke’s face, sinister and bloody.

It did not feel good to be targeted by a poisonous snake. Luke tugged at his collar and panted a little. He continued without change in expression, “In fact, the other party’s offer was very good. It exceeded the market price by 50%. You’re also a businesswoman, so you should understand the difficulty in refusing such a premium cooperation. We reached a cooperation with the other party under such circumstances. Before this, we didn’t know that the boss behind this company was Young Master Ye.”

Luke spoke methodically as if the truth was as he had said. The Leonard family had unintentionally cooperated with Ye Wangchuan, indirectly stabbing Nie Qingru.

Of course, the truth was not that simple.

In fact, not long after Mr. Ji Lin came looking for them, they found out the identity of the boss behind that company.

But so what?

The benefits offered by the other party were not something Nie Qingru could give them.

Moreover, Nie Qingru had protected Di Xicheng time and again, who touched the core interests of the Leonard family a few times…

Due to these reasons, the elders agreed to this cooperation after some discussion.

“Your Majesty, I’m very sorry for what happened.” Luke expressed his apology calmly as if he were indeed sincere.

Throughout the entire process, Nie Qingru’s viper-like eyes firmly observed his every word and action, as if she wanted to pry open his very being and see his soul.

After saying what he had prepared in advance, Luke shut up and sat on the chair, waiting for Nie Qingru’s reaction.

Finally, Nie Qingru propped herself up from the desk and dusted her clothes with half-closed eyes. She turned around and picked up her handbag on the guest sofa. Without turning her head, she said, “This is the reply your family is giving me? Then I’ve received it.”

She opened the lounge door and barged out.

Bang!

The door was slammed shut.

Looking at the closed door, Luke picked up the office line and called the elders. “Hello, the empress just came to me for an explanation. I’ve done as you instructed.”

He looked at the slammed door and continued unhurriedly, “But it seems the Empress didn’t believe me.”

The old man on the other end of the line comforted him and hung up.

Luke put down the receiver and composed himself before focusing on his work.
