The hotel lobby saw people entering and exiting non-stop.

Qiao Nian was wearing a baseball cap and a simple sweater. She wasn’t eye-catching in the crowd. If not for her outstanding temperament, no one would have noticed her.

Someone waited for her back view to disappear through the revolving door.

The hotel manager, who had bumped into Qiao Nian at the door, ran straight to the front desk. He pointed at the girl who had almost completely disappeared from view and asked, “When did an Asian check in?”

The front desk person looked in the direction his finger was pointing, retracted her gaze, and cautiously replied, “She just checked in today.”

...
“What’s her name?” The hotel manager reached out to her. “Show me her check-in information.”

The front desk person quickly pulled out the check-in information from the computer and printed it out before handing it to the Manager.

The manager was a man in his forties. He wore a suit and had a buzz cut. His distinct edges and corners made his strict personality obvious.

He took the guest’s check-in information and scanned through it, pausing for two seconds at the identity column beside the girl’s photo. Seeing that the information detailed an exchange student from Hong Kong, his expression softened slightly.

“Manager, is there something wrong with this person?” The front desk person carefully observed his expression.

The manager restrained the sharpness in his eyes and returned the paper. “It’s nothing. Didn’t the higher-ups say to pay special attention to Asian faces? I’m just taking a look.”

Realization dawned on the front desk person. “Ah, this— Don’t worry, she’s not the person we’re looking for.”

The manager’s face turned cold and solemn. “How do you know?”

Then, he reminded her, “Shred this later.”

The front desk person quickly nodded in agreement. Then, she answered his casual question seriously. “The guest is of mixed blood. Her eyes are dark brown, and she’s not purely Asian.”

There was a world-renowned university near their hotel. Students often stayed there.

The front desk person often saw individuals of mixed heritage.

They were usually beautiful, and their eyes were even more charming.

When checking in the guest, she saw the mixed-blood exchange student’s information and curiously looked into her eyes.

They were really beautiful.

The shape was impeccable.

At their end, the eyes were slightly upturned, outlining a fan-shaped arc. They were like small hooks that were eye-catching.

Most importantly, the eyes were amber in color. They were calm and self-possessed, but with a sense of carelessness and recklessness.

In short, she was beautiful.

The manager did not say anything on the surface. The suspicion that had arisen in his heart had already dissipated. “Since she’s not the person, forget it.”

“Remember to shred the paper.”

“Okay,” the front desk person replied respectfully.

The manager threw this chance encounter to the back of his mind and went on about his work.

Qiao Nian didn’t know she had almost been found out by the manager.

She had flagged down a taxi to where she had agreed to meet Ji Lin.

She looked at the high-end club. It was obvious at a glance that it was a money-squandering place for the rich.

Qiao Nian did not stop walking until she was stopped at the door.

“Hey, you can’t enter.” The waiter looked her up and down impatiently as he stopped her from going in.
