Chapter 1477 - 1477 Su Huaiyuanʼs Situation Is Not Looking Good

1477 Su Huaiyuan’s Situation Is Not Looking Good

The Su family gathered in the corridor outside.

All of them looked grim.

Nine o’clock.

The ICU door opened and several specialists filed out.

!!
Mother Su was the first to react. She immediately went up to them. “Doctor, how’s my father?”

A couple of doctors were holding the latest report from the examination and talking to each other.

The middle-aged man in the lead saw Mother Su from the corner of his eye. He spoke to a few experts and handed the test results to the person beside him.

Then, he turned to Mother Su with a solemn expression and said, “The results of Old Master Su’s examination are out. The situation is not optimistic.”

Mother Su swayed.

Fortunately, Xu Jishen quickly caught her and stopped her from falling.

She looked nervously at the doctor, her eyes gathering mist, her voice laced with tears. “Then my father…”

“I can only say that Old Master Su’s situation is not optimistic. I can’t conclude anything else yet.”

The doctor briefly explained Su Huaiyuan’s current physical condition to them.

“We did a comprehensive examination on Old Master Su and found that other than a malignant tumor growing on his aorta, his biggest problem is that he has a hemolytic immune disease.”

“Doctor, what’s a hemolytic immune disease?” Most of the Su family didn’t know medical professional terms and quickly asked him.

The middle-aged doctor raised his hand, pushed his glasses up his nose, and sighed. “How do I explain this to you?

“Let me put it this way. Healthy people have an immune system in their bodies. It’s precisely because of the existence of the immune system that we rarely catch a cold or have a fever. The problem with Old Master Su is that his immune system is sick. His body is very weak because his immune system has lost its effect. He has had a repeated high fever since the day before yesterday also because of this…”

Mother Su opened her mouth, but the question had not been asked.

Su Huaiyuan’s attending doctor seemed to know what she wanted to ask. “Immunity has always been a problem in the medical world. It’s very difficult to treat. We basically use targeted drugs.

“We’ve done CAR-T cell therapy on GD2 before, but it’s not working too well. The relevant research is still ongoing.

“In addition to GD2, some of the clinical targeted drugs for vascular formation have been relatively successful, but these two drugs have not been approved yet. They won’t be available until next month.”

The doctor said awkwardly, “This is only when it’s listed overseas. If it’s domestically, it still needs layers of approval. I reckon it’ll be difficult even next year!”

Su Huaiyuan obviously couldn’t wait that long!

Mother Su was really exhausted this time and couldn’t stand steadily.

Her face was white, and her mind was buzzing. “How can there be no medicine on the market?”

Without medicine, they couldn’t buy it even if they had money and connections!

For the first time, Mother Su realized how weak a person could be. A little storm could destroy a family.

She covered her face and tears streamed down her face. She turned around and hugged Xu Jishen, crying miserably. “Jishen, your grandfather, he… he…”

Xu Jishen took a deep breath. Cold air filled his mind, and he barely managed to keep his mind clear.

He did not give up as he patted his mother’s back. His gaze passed the group of experts and landed on the girl who was like the moon surrounded by stars.

“Qiao, Qiao Nian.”

Xu Jishen’s throat was dry and hoarse. There seemed to be rough sand and stones stuck in his throat, and the sounds he made were all broken.
