Madam’s Identities Shocks the Entire City Again

Chapter 381 - Do You Know Professor Liang?

Silence ensued for a moment.

Qiao Nian was speechless after hearing his teasing.

Su Mo smiled and said, ”I will remember this. Next time, I will add ice instead of sugar for you.”

Qiao Nian was trying to focus on the documents. But talking to him made her lose focus. Qiao Nian pinched her forehead as her temples suddenly started to throb. Her dark eyes looked at him gloomily. ”Secretary Su, do you still need me to help you out with these documents?”

This meant that if he continued to speak, she would no longer help him out. Su Mo raised his hands in surrender.

”Iʼm sorry, Miss Qiao. Please continue to read the documents. I will stop bothering you. The finance department is still waiting for approval on these documents. Chairman Yuan is not here. Youʼre the only one left who can make the decisions.

”Please take your time.”

Although he said this, he couldnʼt hide the curious look and smile on his face.

He saw how Qiao Nian was getting impatient and decided not to look at him, trying her best to force her attention back to the files.

This document—Research on the application value of minimally invasive surgery in neurosurgery—was simply a research piece on the surgical equipment available for brain surgery. There was no significant content in this research. Professionals would know that even if this research was published, it wouldnʼt help the current development of medical technology. All this research would do was to show people some big and empty illusions.

However, this kind of research was very popular internationally. Many major medical awards and journals loved it.

After flipping through a few pages, Qiao Nian lost interest and put the document aside.

Su Mo glanced at the document she put aside and suddenly remembered something. He said, ”That reminds me, Miss Qiao. Are you acquainted with Professor Liang?”

Qiao Nian was already looking through another document. She casually replied, ”Who is that?”

Su Mo said, ”That would be Liang Lu, Professor Liang.”

Liang Lu?

Qiao Nian turned the page with her hand, with no visible change in expression. She listened lazily, with a hint of vigor in her eyes, and was especially direct.

”Iʼm not acquainted with Liang Lu.”

She didnʼt bother to remember the names of ordinary and unimportant people. She went through the list of people in her head but did not remember who this person was.

Seeing her reply so firmly and then continuing to look through the documents, Su Mo was a little stunned. He spoke to himself in a low voice. ”I thought you two knew each other. When I went down just now, I thought I saw you two talking to each other…”

The document that Qiao Nian had just looked through was the project submitted by Liang Lu and her team.

Truthfully, funding such scientific research would cost a lot of money. The rate of return was also low and the chance of failure was high. Even if they finally managed to develop something, they wouldnʼt benefit much from it.

Many companies were unwilling to fund such research that provided little to no benefit for the company.

Only Miss Qiao supported the various domestic research over the past few years.

To support these research projects, at least 10% of the profits from Cheng Feng Corporation would be burnt every year. But how should he put this? Su Mo looked at the girl sifting through the projects with her head down. He pursed his lips and had a moment of clarity.

Cheng Feng Corporation was built by Qiao Nianʼs efforts. If Qiao Nian wanted to spend 10% of Cheng Feng Corporationʼs money to fund research, both he and Chairman Yuan would definitely support her.

Qiao Nian was unaware of his thoughts. But hearing his words, she looked up casually and narrowed her eyes as though she remembered something. She slowly said, ”It seems as though something like that happened.”

”So, do you know Liang Lu or not?” Su Mo was confused.

”Does it matter if I know her?” Qiao Nianʼs dark eyes restrained her anger and looked casual. Without waiting for his reply, she said, ”I donʼt consider myself to be acquainted with her. I only saw her once in Rao Cityʼs First High School. Today was my second time meeting her.

”We just bumped into each other at the entrance and exchanged a few words.”

From the looks of things, It seemed as though Liang Lu did not want to meet her.
