Lin Pei’s performance just now didn’t seem like a novice’s at all; he seemed like a habitual offender!

He hadn’t felt a thing the entire time.

This precious bellyband had just vanished like that.

Lin Pei smiled. ”It wasn’t that hard. I just took it while you were distracted, Director.”

”I just didn’t expect to... offend you, Director...”

”Stop! Don’t mention this matter again.” The director’s face was beet red.

He cleared his throat.

”I told you that you and this role are a perfect match.”

”Alright, when you officially join the set, do your best.”

”I have high hopes for you.”

”By the way, you didn’t take anything else from me, did you?”

As the director spoke, he checked himself to see if anything else was missing.

Lin Pei waved his hand. ”No, I only took that one thing. I didn’t touch anything else...”

The director said sheepishly, ”That’s good then...”

...Half a month later, filming for ’the gate of rebirth’ officially began.

Lin Pei had received his script on the day he passed the audition.

Over the past few days, aside from occasionally helping a few Young Actors with their depression, Lin Pei had been studying his role in ’the gate of rebirth’.

Through studying the script, Lin Pei had a general idea of the plot of ’the gate of rebirth’.

In the script, after a famous painting is stolen, a criminal investigation captain is ordered to investigate and thus meets a genius university student.

Born into a family of thieves, the student is well-versed in thieving techniques and the psychology of thieves. With the help of the captain, they solve the case of the stolen painting.

And the role Lin Pei was to play was the thief leader who steals the famous painting from... the Hengcheng Museum.

To reflect the realism of the series, the production team spared no expense to collaborate with the museum.

Many of the theft scenes were filmed directly inside the museum.

The museum was also very supportive, specifically setting aside an area for the Film Crew to use.

They even lent out the famous painting for filming to help promote traditional culture.

Film Crew.

Seeing Lin Pei arrive, the director waved to him.

”Little Lin is here. How has your research on the script been these past few days?”

”Don’t worry, Director. I’ve thoroughly mastered the script.”

The director originally wanted to ask him how familiar he was with the thief’s actions and movements in the script.

But on second thought, after having his bellyband swiped by Lin Pei in the office that day... with such miraculous skills, playing a thief leader was almost a waste of talent.

F*ck.

It’s over.

Out of habit, he had brought his precious bellyband with him again today... with so many people on set, if it were pulled out again...

Wouldn’t he die of shame?!

Seeing the director instinctively covering a certain part of his body with his eyes wide, Lin Pei offered his concern.

”Director, what’s wrong?”

The director held on tight while moving away from him.

”Ah... it’s nothing, it’s nothing.”

”Anyway... take a break and wait for filming to start.”
