72: Sit up and help me make the elixir!Merit Pavilion.

The study of Xiang Tianwen, the Pavilion Master.

The barrier had been properly set up.

Xiang Shaobo looked at his bewildered father and sighed, “Father, you’ve been too comfortable in the Merit Pavilion for too long; you’ve lost the sensitivity you should have.”

“Just state the matter, don’t talk about me!”

Xiang Tianwen asked.

Xiang Shaobo adjusted himself and whispered, “According to the rules of the Profound Heaven Dao Sect, when the Sect Master’s strength reaches the Void Refining Stage, he automatically advances to the Elder position. The new Sect Master has two paths to advancement.”

“First, and the most preferred option, is for the Sect Master’s children to inherit, with the full assistance of the Elder Pavilion.”

“Second, if the Sect Master’s children are unable to inherit the position for various reasons, the new Sect Master will be chosen from among the Pavilion Masters at the Soul Transformation Stage.”

“Father, think carefully about the current situation. The Sect Master’s daughter, Wen Yunyao, has already been sent by the Grand Elders to Cultivate with Su Yang. Although I don’t know why he needs someone to accompany him in his cultivation, as a Disciple of the Three Grand Elders, Su Yang’s cultivation will certainly not end overnight. It’s highly probable that Wen Yunyao will be unable to inherit the Sect Master position in the future.”

“If the Sect Master had truly taken Su Yang as a Disciple that day, he might have been groomed to be the new Sect Master. But he became a Disciple of the Grand Elders, and in the future, he will inevitably sit in the Consecration Pavilion with the Grand Elders. Even if he is the master of the divine sword, he will not contend for the Sect Master position.”

“Since Wen Yunyao cannot inherit the Sect Master position, and Su Yang has entered the Consecration Pavilion, the new Sect Master will inevitably be chosen from among the Pavilion Masters.”

“Father, among the Pavilion Masters, who do you think has the highest chance of becoming the new Sect Master?”

Xiang Tianwen asked, “Naturally, it’s Senior Martial Uncle Head of Discipline Pavilion of the Discipline Pavilion! Back then, he was one of the most promising contenders for the Sect Master position. Now, if the Sect Master advances to the Elder position, there’s no doubt the new Sect Master should fall to Senior Martial Uncle Head of Discipline Pavilion.”

Xiang Shaobo nodded and said, “Theoretically, that’s true. Senior Martial Uncle Head of Discipline Pavilion is the strongest among the Pavilion Masters of your generation. Under normal circumstances, if Wen Yunyao cannot inherit the Sect Master position, it should indeed be Senior Martial Uncle Head of Discipline Pavilion’s turn to inherit it. But!”

Xiang Shaobo’s voice grew lower and lower, and his tone became more and more excited: “But Father, don’t forget, Lin Bingqing, as Senior Martial Uncle Head of Discipline Pavilion’s only heir, has also been sent to Cultivate with Su Yang. Like Wen Yunyao, she won’t be able to return to the Sect and participate in Sect affairs for a while. In this situation, if the Sect Master position is passed to him, it becomes a single-line Legacy.”

“The Profound Heaven Dao Sect has always preferred the Legacy of the Sect Master position to maintain the unity of the Sect’s management style and goals. If I’m not mistaken, because of Su Yang’s appearance, Senior Martial Uncle Head of Discipline Pavilion is actually at a disadvantage in the upcoming competition for the Sect Master position.”

“Father, do you understand now!? The current Sect Master’s daughter cannot inherit the Sect Master position because of Su Yang, and the most promising contender for the new Sect Master is also at a disadvantage because of Su Yang. So, Father, you have a chance to compete for the Sect Master position along with the other Pavilion Masters.”

“Why do I curry favor with Su Yang? It’s to get his support, Father!”

“He is the master of the divine sword, the favored Disciple of the Three Grand Elders. If I can gain his goodwill and support, I might be able to obtain the support of the Three Grand Elders through him.”

“As long as the Grand Elders say a word, Father, you will undoubtedly become the next Sect Master of the Profound Heaven Dao Sect, and I will become the Young Sect Master. When you advance to Elder, I will be the next Sect Master!”

Xiang Shaobo spoke with great animation, all his ambition overflowing on his face.
