Longevity Reward Redemption: The Immortal Clan Starts with Farmers

195: The two ethnic groups were resettled at the bottom of the cliff behind Jade Dragon Peak.”Grand Elder Shi, Great Priest, since both your tribes have the intention of moving out of Ailao Mountain, why not lead a small number of elites to my Jade Dragon Peak to take a look? While we’re at it, we can deal with Lin Tianlong during this trip!”

Chen Changsheng’s words immediately sent the two into deep thought. For them, moving out of Ailao Mountain was indeed a major event; after all, their two tribes had lived in Ailao Mountain for a hundred years!

”Hmm, Head of the Chen Family is right. There’s no rush about the relocation. Let’s go to Jade Dragon Peak first. The main priority is to help the Old Poisoner kill that Lin Tianlong and take back the Sacred Artifact.”

Shi Wuyou nodded and said. The Great Priest raised his gloomy eyes; compared to the Shi Tribe, he hadn’t had much contact with Chen Changsheng, but he didn’t want to give up the opportunity to move out of Ailao Mountain.

”First, take back my tribe’s Sacred Artifact! We can talk about relocation later!”

The Great Priest said in a dry, raspy voice. Chen Changsheng nodded. He knew that relocation was a big deal for the two tribes. After all, they were still wanted criminals of the Great Xuan Dynasty; one mistake could risk the extermination of their tribes, so it was only right to be cautious.

”In that case, we will first eliminate Lin Tianlong. I shall await your arrival at Jade Dragon Peak!”

Chen Changsheng cupped his hands and smiled at the two. After they discussed the details of their cooperation, Chen Changsheng left the Shi Tribe with Chen Chuanwu.

Walking out of Ailao Mountain, Chen Changsheng and Chuanwu made their way back to Jade Dragon Peak.

In truth, Jade Dragon Peak was quite large and could accommodate the two tribes without any problem. However, Chen Changsheng already considered Jade Dragon Peak as the Chen family’s private domain; letting the two tribes live here didn’t sit right with him.

He told his three sons about the situation and asked them to help think of a way to settle the relocating tribes.

Chuanwu and Chuanjie scratched their heads, unable to come up with any ideas, while Chen Chuanwen thought for a moment and said to Chen Changsheng:

”Father, I have two ideas!”

Chen Changsheng looked at Chen Chuanwen. He knew his second son had always been clever and might have some good ideas.

”Second son, let’s hear your ideas!”

”Alright, Father!”

Chen Chuanwen nodded, then pointed toward the mountainside of Jade Dragon Peak and said:

”Our Jade Dragon Peak has clear boundaries. Below the mountainside is dense jungle, while above it is covered in white snow. We can have the two tribes settle between the mountainside and the foot of the mountain. This also has another benefit!”

”While the two tribes live there normally, they can serve as a barrier for our Chen family. Once an enemy attacks, they will be the first line of defense!”

Hearing Chuanwen’s words, Chen Changsheng couldn’t help but nod. Chuanwen had indeed reminded him that they should arrange some people at the mountainside to serve as the first checkpoint for guarding Jade Dragon Peak.

However, Chen Changsheng didn’t want the two tribes living there. After all, they weren’t of the same clan as the Chen family; the two sides were only cooperating for mutual benefit. If the other party didn’t put their lives on the line for the Chen family, this first line of defense would be as good as useless.

”I’ll consider the first idea. Chuanwen, tell me your second idea!”

Chen Changsheng nodded. He didn’t voice his internal calculations but instead let Chuanwen continue.

”Father, my second idea will take some effort!”

Chen Chuanwen pointed to the cliff on the back mountain of Jade Dragon Peak and said:

”In the entire Jade Dragon Mountain Range, our Jade Dragon Peak is the highest, but the back of the peak is a cliff. Below that cliff is a very hidden, natural valley. We can clear that place out and let the two tribes live there.”

”The trouble is that coming and going from the steep cliff isn’t easy. We’ll have to spend some effort to construct a passage leading down to the cliff so that supplies can be sent down and people can move around!”
