Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2985: Chapter 2983: Not Willing to Settle

Especially after seeing how good the relationship between her brother and sister-in-law was, she became even more unwilling to just settle.

How far can two people without feelings really go together?

So she wouldn’t let her own marriage become something she just muddled through; she could only take her time looking. If she found someone, great; if she didn’t, there was no need to wrong herself too much.

This was also why she didn’t want to marry casually. With that comparison right in front of her, if she still didn’t pay attention, then she really would be a fool.

Obviously, Chu Xiaoqiao wasn’t a fool and wouldn’t let herself fall into that kind of situation.

Qin Xue didn’t know what was on Chu Xiaoqiao’s mind, so she didn’t say much more.

She was more focused on thinking about how to live more comfortably herself.

And faced with all sorts of people like this or that, what Chu Xiaoqiao wanted to do was just make herself better. Feelings, to her, couldn’t be eaten, so they weren’t necessary.

”It’s good you’re thinking this way. Think more about how good they are to you, then think about whether what you’re doing is worth it.” Qin Xue glanced at her sister-in-law. She was already this old; saying too much wasn’t good either. Better to let her think for herself. Only after she figured things out on her own would she know what kind of life she actually wanted.

It had to be said that Qin Xue was a good sister-in-law; what she did and what she thought about were all for Chu Xiaoqiao’s sake.

It was just that she hadn’t thought about things turning out like this beforehand. If there had been a suitable candidate, she would have encouraged her to get to know him, but who knew this girl, from the bottom of her heart, didn’t want to get married at all—now that was tricky.

Because of that, Qin Xue decided to let her think it through herself. Only then would she not say much in the future.

And only after Chu Xiaoqiao started thinking this way did Qin Xue begin to come up with other ways, all to persuade her.

”Mm, I get it. Sis, if one day you find that the life you have now isn’t the same as what you thought it was before, would you be angry?” Chu Xiaoqiao looked at Qin Xue cautiously as she asked.

”What do you mean?” Qin Xue shot her a look. Was she hiding something from her, asking like this?

”Nothing, I just want to know what you think. Like, say everything you know now, if one day it turns out to be different from what you thought, would you have other thoughts about it?” Chu Xiaoqiao felt she still had to ask; otherwise, in the future, even if she wanted to know, it might be impossible.

Because she was afraid that when that time came, they’d have misunderstandings, and that would be bad.

”There are too many uncertain factors in this world. What you’re thinking about today might not be what you think it is—that’s normal. So don’t be afraid I’ll have any particular thoughts. If it really turns out like that, maybe it just means I’m not qualified enough to know yet.” Qin Xue didn’t know exactly what Chu Xiaoqiao wanted to say, but she didn’t need to think too hard to guess what she was hinting at.

Wasn’t she just trying to say that the truth of things might not be the same as what it seemed now? If that was the case, then no matter how much she said or how much she did, what use would it be? It’d be better to just wait until the time came and she was meant to know; that might actually be the best.

”Sis, it’s not what you think. The things from before are a bit hard to explain. I also found out by accident. When there’s a chance in the future, you’ll know.” Chu Xiaoqiao was afraid Qin Xue would misunderstand. After all, some things didn’t go the way they wanted them to.

And the fact that Qin Xue had been married to her brother for so long without knowing these things showed that some things weren’t unsaid because of her, but because her brother didn’t say them. She couldn’t be blamed for that.

”Mm, don’t worry, I’m not overthinking it. Whatever the outcome is, we’ll just keep going as we are.” Qin Xue didn’t dwell on those unknown things. For things she didn’t know, overthinking was useless; on the contrary, it might only make her more anxious. So she chose not to get tangled up in what she didn’t know, because there was no point.
