Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2820: Chapter 2818: The Appearance of the Red Spider Lily

For certain reasons, they could not fall in love. When the Heavenly Court found out, they were punished and turned into a single flower, never to see each other for eternity.

But they were unique, as one had leaves but no flower, while the other had a flower but no leaves.

After a thousand cycles of reincarnation, one day the Buddha came by their side and saw this enchantingly beautiful flower.

He gazed at them intently, scrutinizing carefully, and discovered the mystery within.

Then he reached out, pulled them out, and planned to plant them back in the Holy Land. However, as he passed through the Underworld, the flower fell, took root, and grew.

Seeing this, the Buddha said, ”So be it. Since your fates have not ended, I will not force it. From now on, let your flowers bloom across this place.”

Later, this flower grew in the Underworld, but they were still under the curse of the Heavenly Court, never able to meet.

Eventually, the Underworld appointed it as the envoy to guide souls, naming it the corpse flower (excerpt from Baidu).

This flower is said to grow on the path to the Netherworld, symbolizing the flower of that path. How could it grow in her domain?

Qin Xue, although she didn’t understand why, knew that this flower also symbolized a tragic representative, while simultaneously representing pure love, embodying a very contradictory existence.

No matter what, seeing the flower now, Qin Xue felt nothing special, or any strong emotions. After the initial surprise, came calmness.

She neither yearned for that kind of love nor wanted to become such a person.

”Perhaps it holds some significance,” Xue Ling also recognized this flower and could only marvel at the power of love.

”Hmm, let it grow. This flower grows widely, yet here there is only one. Maybe it truly bears some other significance,” Qin Xue was uncertain.

In her view, such a result was unexpected, yet not something she was entirely unaware of. Seeing this beautiful flower brought a strange feeling to her heart.

Perhaps things were just like this. If explanations were impossible, she would just let it be.

”That flower...” Chu Molin had never seen such a flower, feeling its eerie presence.

”Corpse flower, a bittersweet story. Let’s move along,” said Qin Xue without elaborating, but Chu Molin remembered its form.

Qin Xue noticed he didn’t ask further or care. It was rumored this flower could awaken memories of a past life, though no one knew if it was true.

Regardless of truth, Qin Xue didn’t want to try. That thing was poisonous, life is precious, and she wouldn’t gamble with it.

She cherished her life and wouldn’t care whether others wanted to know or not.

As long as she understood the situation, that was enough.

The family ventured further, encountering numerous plants with unrecognizable names, truly opening Qin Xue’s eyes.

”Xue Ling, why are there so many things here?” Qin Xue wasn’t a botanist, so she didn’t find it surprising not to recognize them.

”I don’t know. My former master tinkered with these before, but I never touched them, so I have no idea. Why bother with them? As long as you have that patch of medicinal herbs, it’ll suffice,” Xue Ling didn’t care about them, as they were unnecessary.

”True, alright, let’s head back,” Qin Xue and the others didn’t stay long, having originally just come out to aid digestion. Having walked enough, it was time to return and rest; without energy, how could they clean the house the next day?

Someone like that must conserve their strength.

”Alright, let’s go back,” Chu Molin rarely spoke. He only responded when Qin Xue talked to him; otherwise, he maintained his usual demeanor.
