Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2538: Chapter 2532: Choosing the Right Partner Means Every Day Is Valentine’s Day

”Since Xiaoqiao is not here anymore and Qing Zhu has gone on a trip, I was wondering if there’s anything inconvenient for you being alone here, or anything that you need help with. Don’t be shy to ask. Also, with the new school term starting, do you plan to enroll Nannan in kindergarten?” This was Qin Xue’s purpose for coming.

Nannan is about the same age as Cohen, and Cohen is going to school. Therefore, Nannan should also start school, otherwise, valuable time will be lost, and it will be late for his early education.

”I have thought about it, but since my return is temporary, his residence registration isn’t here, which makes enrolling in school quite difficult.” Dongfang Li grew up here, so she’s aware of the enrollment situation.

”That’s true. Since you’re working here now, it’s quite normal for the child to be with you. You could get a statement from the village council explaining these reasons and submit it to the school; it should work.” Qin Xue was worried Dongfang Li might not know what to do, so she made this visit to suggest possible solutions.

”I’ve also considered this issue and am pondering the best way to handle it. I’m concerned they won’t issue a statement, and if asked about the family’s situation, how should I respond?” Dongfang Li isn’t truly without a husband; she left with the child. If the village council asks, should she tell them? If she does, she’ll surely be refused, and might even be sent back. If she doesn’t, when asked how she could be about to give birth without a father, it would seem pitiful. If the child’s father shows up later, wouldn’t she be seen as deceitful?

Indeed, despite knowing that man doesn’t love her, Dongfang Li is certain that if Brother Ping tells him they are here, he will come, because he won’t let his child be stranded outside. This is precisely the outcome she doesn’t want; otherwise, she wouldn’t have left with the child in the first place.

She knows what kind of situation Nannan is in at that home, which is why she doesn’t want him to suffer at such a young age. If his fate is to endure such hardships, it’s better for him to be with his mother.

At least he has a mother’s love. Missing out on a father’s love—what of it? As long as he’s happy, it’s fine. In the future, she will protect him. As long as his father doesn’t seek them out, no matter how hard she works, she won’t let the two kids suffer. This is Dongfang Li’s current thought.

Despite everything, Dongfang Li has already withdrawn her heart. Regardless of the pain, she will live well and take good care of her two children. This is a woman—a mother. No matter how much she suffers, she won’t let her children suffer or feel sad.

Seeing Dongfang Li think this way, Qin Xue sighed inwardly. No one can truly understand a mother’s heart, except for someone with the same identity who can grasp her reasons for acting this way.

But no matter the circumstances, women must keep their eyes open when choosing a husband. Choosing the right person means everyday is Valentine’s Day; choosing wrong means everyday feels like a mourning day.

A woman can bear some hardship and struggle without feeling it’s too hard, but when the partner is not a good person, even eating abalone every day won’t bring happiness. This is a very real situation, so Qin Xue believes Dongfang Li might look at the issue from another perspective.

She also does not believe that the man has no feelings for her at all. If he had no feelings, he wouldn’t let her have child after child. What they face now indicates that everyone involved is trapped in it, not understanding emotions and unaware of what they truly want. Qin Xue believes that Dongfang Li’s leaving will change their feelings.
