Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2465: Chapter 2459: Why Do This

Thinking about how he massaged her last night so she could sleep well, she wondered what she would do after he went to work. It seemed like he could submit his application; after all, he couldn’t continue working without submitting it. Whether he submitted it sooner or later, he had to do it, so he might as well submit it early and come back to be with his family.

Chu Molin decided to act on his thoughts after starting work. Once he had everything arranged at work, he took his application to Ye Xiao’s office.

”Molin is here, have a seat.” Ye Xiao had just arrived at the office when he saw Chu Molin. He was in a good mood today—his son was fine and had come back safely. His son also told him to prepare for his marriage to Qing Zhu, which made him even happier. All of this was thanks to Chu Molin, and he felt truly grateful for the good outcome. So, when he saw Chu Molin, he was genuinely grateful.

”Hey, old man, I know the policy has already been issued. Here is my application.” Chu Molin handed Ye Xiao his application.

”Resignation?” Ye Xiao originally thought it was an application for promotion, but it turned out to be a resignation. Why was that?

”Yes, Xue’er is pregnant. I know the policy doesn’t allow staff to have a second child, so I resigned myself to make it easier for you.” Currently, Ye Xiao was unaware that Qin Xue was pregnant, so he wasn’t troubled by this yet. However, Qin Xue’s belly was about to show, and if others saw it, they would definitely know what was going on.

The result of this would inevitably involve Ye Xiao, and as a leader, no matter what he did, it would be difficult. Molin was unwilling to see Ye Xiao struggle because of this issue.

Originally, he had already written the application for other reasons, and now that the policy was in place, he went along with it. In his heart, he believed that losing a job meant he could find another one, but losing a child meant no amount of crying or pleading would bring the child back. Between the two, he chose the child.

”Why do you want to do this?” Ye Xiao looked at Chu Molin with a pained expression. He was so capable and could have gone much further and done much better. But handing over this application meant he could only go home.

”Because the child is what I want, and I won’t harm them.” Chu Molin continued to persuade Ye Xiao with this reason.

”What if I don’t approve it?” Ye Xiao looked at Chu Molin, curious about what he would do in such a situation.

”Then I can only wait for the higher-ups to publicly dismiss me and send me home.” Chu Moshuang thought about what else he could do and realized there was nothing else.

”You could achieve more and go further. Do you regret doing this?” Ye Xiao’s tone was hard to distinguish between pity or heartache.

”No regrets.” Despite his love for the job, Chu Molin didn’t want to harm his wife and children.

”Alright, once Ye Xuan’s hand has healed and he returns to work, I’ll approve your application.” Ye Xiao knew the policy had to be enforced, but he never thought Chu Molin would be the first one affected. Such talent was truly regrettable, but it was something beyond their control.

”If possible, I would suggest letting Ye Xuan go home. His hand injury is too severe, and it was Xue’er who tried her best to save him. He’s not suitable for this kind of work anymore, and besides, he’s getting married, so it’s best he stays with his wife and children at home. He could do some other work instead; it doesn’t have to be this job. You know, going out to gather material always involves certain risks, which are unavoidable, right? So one can only be careful.” Chu Molin wasn’t stopping Ye Xuan from working; it’s just that he’s no longer fit for this job.
