Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2251: Chapter 2245: You’re My Brother—Who Else Should I Treat Well?

”Got it, I’m coming right away.” Ye Zishu put her luggage aside and quickly checked out a few rooms. She found one was a study, two were occupied, and since Ye Li went into one of them, there was only one left for her. She didn’t really have a choice, did she? And to think Ye Li had just told her to pick whichever room she wanted! How could she choose if no one told her?

But this was fine too; Ye Zishu wasn’t picky about where she slept. Even if she felt a bit out of place in a new spot, it didn’t matter — she’d fall asleep just the same when she was exhausted.

That’s one of Ye Zishu’s strengths, you couldn’t find fault with it. Her adaptability was impressive, a useful trait for traveling on business trips.

Ye Li looked at this room, wondering how many years it had been since he last stayed here. It really didn’t feel like home at all.

He sighed, roughly settled his things, and without even changing his clothes, went straight out of the room.

”Shushu, let’s go.” When Ye Li got downstairs, he realized Ye Zishu still hadn’t come down. He didn’t know what she was doing; she was way too slow.

But no matter how slow she was, Ye Li didn’t go upstairs to rush her. Instead, he sat on the couch in the living room, waiting for her.

He needed to get used to waiting for girls. Otherwise, if the girl he ended up with in the future also needed to doll up before going out, waiting was going to be inevitable.

”Ye Li, look at this. I almost forgot.” Ye Zishu placed a book in front of Ye Li.

”What’s this book?” Ye Li had no idea why Ye Zishu was bringing it to him.

”This is Lele’s. I borrowed it last time to read, but then I got stuck on a few questions and never returned it to her. Since we were coming here, I brought it along. I only saw it again while organizing my stuff. I’ve got to solve these questions fast so I can return the book to her. Can you take a look at how to solve this one?” Ye Zishu put the book in front of Ye Li, hoping he’d help with the questions she couldn’t solve.

She really hoped, no, was very eager, for Ye Li to look over the questions and teach her.

”I’m not in the mood to look at it now. Let’s eat first. I’ll study them when we get back, and after I’ve figured them out, I’ll teach you.” Ye Li closed the book. Hunger was making him irritable; he couldn’t focus on solving questions right now.

”Alright, I wonder if Lele and the others have arrived yet. If their house had a phone, it would be great; we could give them a call.” Ye Zishu was a bit frustrated. It was useless that her uncle’s house had a phone since Qin Jiale’s sister’s house didn’t. What a waste.

”Shushu, why don’t you just stay at their place? You keep mentioning Lele, people might think you’re her shadow or something.” Ye Li didn’t mind hearing those two words, but when he did, he felt uncomfortable. Why did she have to stick so closely to someone she couldn’t offend?

”I would like to, but if I go, you’ll be all alone here, wouldn’t you? Never mind, I’ll stay with you. At the very least, I can write a letter to Lele and ask her to go shopping with me.” Ye Zishu remembered her parents’ words well; she wouldn’t leave Ye Li alone at home.

”Then I really have to thank you for sacrificing your time to keep me company.” Ye Li didn’t even know how to describe this cousin of his. She had such a simplistic way of thinking. If everything could go as she wished, there wouldn’t be so many disappointments in the world.

”Who else would I be nice to if not you, my brother? Didn’t you say you were hungry? Let’s go eat.” Ye Zishu and Ye Li had been companions since childhood. Although she’d bicker with him sometimes, he was still her brother. The ’cousin’ label didn’t matter; they had long been like real siblings.
