All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 141 The Conflict of Faith”However, for us, there is a piece of good news,” the Sun God continued, his tone steady and powerful.

”After every Epochal Calamity, the world will provides an opportunity for a reshuffling of divine offices.”

The Sun God’s gaze cast deep into the Void Realm, as if looking at some distant existence.

”This change affects more than just the [Hengsha Realm] where we reside,” he said. ”It also affects the higher level—the [Pantheon].”

Zhou Zheng thought for a moment. ”Is it also to provide positions for new powers?”

The Sun God glanced at him, a hint of admiration in his eyes.

”Exactly.” It was foreseeable that this time, a divine office related to [Machinery] would certainly be born by taking advantage of this opportunity.

”The world will will open a special Plane where all intelligent beings lack any form of faith. We call it—the [God-Forsaken Land].”

No faith.

Zhou Zheng’s heart skipped a beat.

In the entire Universe, this could be considered heresy.

The Sun God seemed to perceive his shock but did not stop.

”Whenever the God-Forsaken Land appears, all Third-Tier Deities can pay world source energy to force a deity holding a certain divine office to participate in the war.”

He paused. ”Of course, the more powerful the deity, the more world source energy needs to be paid.”

Therefore, a situation could also arise where multiple deities set their sights on the same divine office and join forces to ”split the bill,” paying the source energy to force the holder of that divine office into the battlefield.

”During the war, the divine office will be temporarily stripped.”

The Sun God continued his introduction, ”The winning deity will obtain that divine office. The deity who originally held the divine office will not die, but will fall back to the Realm of a Third-Tier Deity. Years of accumulation will vanish in an instant.”

Zhou Zheng fell silent for a moment.

”The method of combat is to compete for faith in this God-Forsaken Land,” the Sun God continued. ”The intelligent beings of this Plane are like a blank sheet of paper in terms of faith, waiting for the deities to paint their own colors.”

He raised his hand and drew a circle in the air.

”None of the participating deities can send their own followers. They can only enter that land by transmitting a Divine Thought Seed—developing believers, establishing churches, launching divine wars... to compete for the faith of the original intelligent beings on this land.”

”When a deity’s last believer on this land disappears, they have failed.”

Zhou Zheng could already feel the glint and flash of cold steel on that land.

All deities, on the same land, at the same starting line. A super free-for-all.

The Moon Goddess comforted Zhou Zheng, ”However, for deities who wish to create their own divine office, the rules are slightly different.”

She looked at Zhou Zheng.

”You only need to ensure that at the final moment, your believers reach a certain number to prove the potential of your divine office, and then the new divine office can be recognized by the world.”

Zhou Zheng sighed, ”But in that kind of chaos, surviving until the end is no easy feat either.”

The Sun God said solemnly, ”The three of us have already decided to sign up.”

His tone was calm, but Zhou Zheng could hear the excitement that had been suppressed for a long time beneath that calm.

”We have waited for too long.”

He looked at Zhou Zheng.

”If you participate... I’ll see you then.”

...

Several months later.

Zhou Zheng’s Divine Thought body traveled an unknown distance and arrived at a silent part of the Void Realm.

After leaving the Myriad Spirits Divine System, he chose this place as his secluded cultivation site.

After defeating Gear, in addition to the Luck distributed among the gods, something extra was stored within his True Deity Form.

It was a cluster of profound and mysterious existence.

He couldn’t say what it was, but he instinctively hid its existence from the Myriad Spirits Divine System.

At this moment, he floated in the Void Realm, his Divine Thought touching that gift.

He wanted to know what exactly this was.

The moment his Divine Thought probed inside—

All senses vanished simultaneously.

There was only boundless nothingness.
