Venerated Venomous Consort

The growth of their beards and the shape of their eyes were very similar. Their chins were not the same though. The master had a sharp chin, whereas the chin of the lunatic scientist had a squarish one.

After a brief exchange of information between the two of them, Gu Xijiu made a bold assumption, ”I think that the master of venomous spells should be the lunatic scientist! As you already know, cosmetic operations in the modern era are at an advanced stage. Hence, even one’s chin can be made sharper.”

A cold chill ran down Long Siye’s spine, ”Could it be that the lunatic scientist has also traveled through time to be here and has even mastered the technique of body possession?”

Gu Xijiu nodded, ”Most probably.”

Long Siye rubbed his eyebrows intensely, ”It does not seem quite right. According to Di Fuyi, the man has practiced to a level where his soul can emerge from his body. You should know that such level of practice takes at least 150 years to achieve, meaning that he will be older than I am. I can be sure that the lunatic was still living a good life when I died!”

Gu Xijiu sighed, ”You have also said that even the same death would not necessarily lead to the same incarnation of the same era. Even though the man died much later than us, he could have been reincarnated before you.”

Long Siye did not comment any further.

Gu Xijiu was deeply absorbed in her thoughts as she was trying to infer from the available evidence. Time slipped away in silence, little by little.

Unknowingly, two hours had passed. Both of them still lied there side by side. Without Gu Xijiu noticing, Long Siye approached her and held her hand, ”Xijiu, the man behind the scene may not be gone yet and will most probably stage a comeback. We should be even more careful from now on. I hope that you and I can fight together.”

His hands were warm. Gu Xijiu’s hand was chilly in contrast. She then pulled her hand back and said, ”Do not worry, I also hope that the lunatic is no longer alive. We will have to cooperate, along with others.”

There was a gleam of light in his eyes when Long Siye looked at her, ”I could not care less about them. I only want to know what you think. I will be thrilled as long as you and I are together.”

Gu Xijiu felt a burden on her shoulder again. She felt unrestrained when they were involved in proper discussions but uncomfortable when he tried to change the subject to talk about love.

She did not wish to embarrass him, so she smiled, ”I am delighted as well.”

As the night grew darker, the moon shined brighter.

Long Siye looked at Gu Xijiu, who was lying next to him. He had a rush of blood and took her waist with his arm, ”Xijiu…” His lips then fell on her cheek.

Gu Xijiu was utterly stunned.

Intuitively, she tilted her head aside to avoid the kiss. She wanted to get up. ”I think I should go and collect the flowers now.”

However, Long Siye seemed to be rather firm with his stand. His arm grew tighter around her. She failed to stand up when he hugged her even closer.

”Xijiu, I want to kiss you. Let us try, shall we?” His breath was boiling. He pressed his lips down even before he finished his sentence.

Subconsciously, Gu Xijiu wanted to push him away, but his last words moved her. When Di Fuyi tried to kiss her forcibly, he once asked her if she would prefer Long Siye to treat her the same. That time, she could not possibly imagine it, as she had never kissed Long Siye before.

Perhaps, she could be dazzled by his kiss as well. She had never been to such a stage with Long Siye. Maybe, she would feel the same if they were to try. How would she find out without trying? While she was deep in her thoughts, Long Siye had already attached his lips to hers.
