Venerated Venomous Consort

”Qingluo, do you feel the pain here?”

Yun Qingluo was quivering in pain, as a cold sweat broke out uncontrollably on her forehead, ”Stop… Stop! You have to stop…”

The man stopped, ”Now you understand the pain?”

”Who… Who exactly are you? You are not my… my puppet!” Panicked, she was overcome with terror. She tried to control him with her puppet techniques, but nothing happened.

”Qingluo, I am.” The man sighed, ”But I do have another master. Qingluo, I have been by your side for almost two years. I do have feelings for you. You are not destined to be with the man, so why don’t you take me instead? You see, I can comfort you, I can please you, I can make you happy. My looks and my spirit resemble him. Am I in any way inferior to him?”

Yun Qingluo closed her eyes, ”But you are still not him! Other than your looks, nothing else about you resembles him! You are incomparable to him!”

Rage grew in his eyes. His fingers jabbed into her injuries again. Yun Qingluo’s body stiffened. She wanted to scream out loud, but the man covered her mouth.

Yun Qingluo was apparently in a lot of pain as she struggled to avoid his attempts to continue hurting her. She looked at him with eyes round and bright, terrified by the devilish puppet.

The man saw her pale face and sighed faintly, ”He brought you the pain, didn’t he?”

His fingers still lingered around her injuries. Yun Qingluo was sweating profusely at this stage. She did not dare to talk back anymore and nodded in agreement.

The man seemed to be satisfied and finally removed his hand from her mouth. He asked, ”Do you hate him?”

Yun Qingluo nodded in agreement again.

”That’s right. Qingluo, the man is not destined to be yours. He is so cruel to you, and he is completely unworthy of your love. Why do you let such a man live? If you cannot have him, you should destroy him, right? At least if you destroy him, he does not belong to anyone. In that case, having me means having him as well…”

Yun Qingluo’s face turned pale, ”You… You want me to kill him?”

The man brushed her lips with his fingers, ”You are not capable of doing so. You cannot even get close enough to him. Even if you do, you are not able to fight him. It would be faster for him to kill you first.”

”Then… Then you said that I should destroy him… I…”

”You do not have to do it yourself; you just have to follow my instructions…” The man started to assign her a mission.

The mission was not complicated. She only had to spread some rumors among the students and to spy on someone.

Perplexed, her mind was in a tangle. She knew that once she made a move, she would become entirely antagonistic to Di Fuyi and there would be no turning back.

The puppet seemed to have realized her discontent at the plan. Smilingly, he started to threaten her, ”Yun Qingluo, you can choose not to do it, but I will walk out of this room, and people are going to realize my existence. They will make me confess what I have done with you for the past two years. If Di Fuyi found out about it, what would be the end result for you?”

Yun Qingluo turned pale at this remark. She closed her eyes. Under the circumstances, she had no choice but to follow what the man told her to do.

...

The moon was in the middle of the night sky, hanging around like a massive plate floating in the air. The brightness of the moon had dulled the charm of the stars. Only a few stars could be seen scattered around.

The sound of a flute grew steadily and echoed between the land and the sky. Even the red maple leaves swirled and danced to its musical rhythm.

With a long white robe, Long Siye stood under a tree and played the flute with charm and grace. He was probably reminiscing events of his past life and grieving the beautiful memories that he once had.
