Venerated Venomous Consort

”Gu Xijiu” stared at the ground for some time before she answered, ”I was disappointed…”

Yun Qingluo was pleased as finally found a weak point to attack her prey. She said proudly, ”I know you were upset and you purposely came over to greet us so that you can confirm whether that was Celestial Master Zuo. Even though you looked very calm, I know you were crying inside your heart, right? You even had to force yourself to smile!”

”Gu Xijiu” only repeated her words, ”I forced myself to smile…”

Yun Qingluo was so happy as Gu Xijiu seemed to be depressed at the moment. She stepped further forward, ”Gu Xijiu, Celestial Master Zuo is already engaged with me, you’re nothing in his heart! Even though he felt guilty and treated you nicely, he was not sincere about it. He could not possibly even be sincere about marrying you. The one he loves is me, the one he wants to protect is also me! Even if both of us marry him one day, I’ll be the official one! I’m his wife, and you’re the mistress…”

”Gu Xijiu” interrupted her, ”Have you awakened from your dream? Are you sure you hung out with Celestial Master Zuo on Chinese Valentine’s Day?”

Yun Qingluo raised her head as high as possible, ”Of course! Who could impersonate him? And more importantly who would dare!?”

Gu Xijiu did not speak anymore but started to clean up and got ready to leave.

Yun Qingluo secretly rechecked the surroundings to make sure no one else was there. She had another evil idea after she confirmed that there was no one else around. She slowly drew closer to ”Gu Xijiu” and suddenly pretended to fall and crashed into her!

She was holding an Enchanted Needle, that had a unique effect on its victim, ”Gu Xijiu” would lose her ability to move if she happened to be poked by the needle. It was not a type of poison. Hence, nobody would know even if they investigated.

She wanted to poke Gu Xijiu and then push her into the lake. Then, she would lose her ability to move and eventually drown. No one would know that she was the culprit.

Yun Qingluo thought ”Gu Xijiu” was unaware of her actions, and did not expect Gu Xijiu to disappear suddenly! A force pushed her from behind, and she could not stop.

Initially, she was rushing forward as she planned to push Gu Xijiu into the lake. She thought she would manage to stop in time. Due to the force behind her, she could not stand still and fell into the water.

The very moment she fell into the lake, the needle she was holding poked into her palm. Thus, she could move and sunk deeper into the water.

She was frightened and wanted to shout, but her whole body was stiff, and she could not even open her mouth. She could only watch on as the water engulfed her entire body.

As she was falling deeper and deeper into the lake, she saw Gu Xijiu standing on the shore. She was perfectly fine and was watching Yun Qingluo sink with an evil gaze. Right at that moment, Yun Qingluo realized that her smile was very familiar. It was similar to Celestial Master Zuo’s smile!

”Gu Xijiu” did not think of rescuing Yun Qingluo as she watched her sinking into the water. When Yun Qingluo was right at the bottom of the lake, she smiled and then left with her basket of fish.

The lake returned to its serenity as the water was calm and quiet as though nothing had happened.

...

”Gu Xijiu” returned to her courtyard and sat on a rocky bench. She took out a jade tablet from her pocket. The jade tablet was the one Di Fuyi dropped at the pond.
