Be Gentle, My Master

Leng Yu weakly sat on the ground, her face blank, no longer having the strength to get up.

It turned out that, for Mr.

Xiaojiu, this was their significance.

Not that they were unimportant, just that the roles they played were different.

As Mr.

Xiaojiu himself had said, there was no comparison, who would willingly lose their arms?

And who would agree to live without a heart?

To him, they were all terribly important.

But if he absolutely had to choose, he’d keep the heart—at least it would keep him alive.

But why must they be so cruel as to force Mr.

Xiaojiu to make this choice?

By forcing him, weren’t they also harming him?

“Actually, given Miss Xiaxia’s character, I believe she wouldn’t casually harm you.”

Ye Hua crouched down in front of Leng Yu, looked at her, and softened his voice.

“When facing her, did you ever show her at least a bit of the respect she’s due?”

Leng Yu looked at him, not knowing whether she felt wronged, resentful, or heartbroken.

Heartbroken by the pressure she had caused Mr.

Xiaojiu, making him so upset.

Was Mr.

Xiaojiu disappointed in her?

She thought she would never let Mr.

Xiaojiu down, but could invisible harm count as a betrayal?

“If you know Mr.

Xiaojiu values Miss Xiaxia, then why must you oppose her?

Opposing Miss Xiaxia is like tormenting Mr.

Xiaojiu’s heart.

How is that any different from tormenting him directly?”

“Ye Hua, but that woman, she’s always been a burden to Mr.

Xiaojiu.” She really couldn’t accept it!

“If it hadn’t been for Miss Xiaxia this time, Mr. Xiaojiu might not have made it back alive,” Ye Hua sighed softly.

Leng Yu looked at him in surprise, “What do you mean by that?”

Ye Hua looked at her, wanting to say something, but in the end he just sighed lightly and shook his head.

“Since Mr.

Xiaojiu doesn’t want anyone else to know, I also wouldn’t dare take it upon myself to tell you.”

“But regardless of what you think, Miss Xiaxia isn’t as useless as you believe.

She has saved Mr.

Xiaojiu more than once, and I hope you won’t be prejudiced against her.”

“Maybe you don’t always have to use your eyes; perhaps try using your heart.

Is she really that bad?”

“Whether or not you can see through it, at least stop opposing her outright.”

“She’s right, she is Miss Sun of this family and you are just a subordinate of Mr.

Xiaojiu, at the very least, some respect is due.”

Ye Hua stood up and reached out his hand to her, “Come on, battling her does no good to you, didn’t you see it clearly just now?

Forcing Mr.

Xiaojiu to make a choice, even if it pains him, he’d still bear the pain and let you go.”

“Do you really not care at all?

Do you really resign yourself to being less than that woman?” Leng Yu looked at him, her eyes still full of bitterness.

Ye Hua smiled, a smile tinged with helplessness, “I don’t know why you think like this, why do you have to compare?

Maybe…

because you are a woman?”

“It has nothing to do with being a man or a woman!” Leng Yu retorted angrily.

Ye Hua merely shrugged, his smile dismissive, “I have never compared, because there’s no need. Each of us is different to Mr. Xiaojiu, why the need to compare?”

Leng Yu clenched her teeth, saying nothing.

Ye Hua shook his head again and sighed softly, “If someone asked you, if your dad and your mom were both drowning and asked who you would save, would answering that question pain your heart? Would you hate the person asking?”

Just asking is a form of harm, why couldn’t she understand that?
