Chapter 383: The Truth is Right in Front of Our Eyes 02_1

The fine horses in the stables were mostly owned.

Although they claimed to let everyone train occasionally, in fact, Mu Lingchuan, Xiaoyao, Ziying, Ziqing, and other young heirs and heiresses of the family had already chosen their own horses.

Kept in the stables as if in foster care, no one else but the owners were allowed to ride them.

No one complained about spending money on this; it wasn’t an issue for them.

As for the horse that Baili Xia chose today, it was unknown where she picked it from.

In short, it had no reputation at all, and he even suspected it was recently sent.

Mu Lingchuan’s suspicion was confirmed shortly.

When the old patriarch called the younger generation over for a warm-up match,

The stable manager happened to see Mu Lingchuan and Baili Xia leading a white horse together in the grass.

Upon seeing Mu Lingchuan, he immediately welcomed him with a smile, “Mr.

Mu Lingchuan, long time no see.”

Mu Lingchuan nodded, pointing to the horse beside him.

“My sister likes this little creature, so let’s keep it for her from now on.”

“What do you mean?” Baili Xia, who was sitting on the horse, widened her eyes in surprise, looking at him: “Brother, this horse…”

“It’s yours from now on.

If you find a better one, I’ll replace it for you immediately.”

“No!” Baili Xia tightened the reins suddenly: “I want this one, I don’t want any other.”

Mu Lingchuan looked at the stable manager.

The manager rubbed his nose and coughed slightly.

“Mr.

Mu Lingchuan, to be honest, this horse has only been here for less than half a year and it’s not eligible for competition yet.”

“Too young?” Mu Lingchuan had noticed this, but was a bit dissatisfied.

“If it can’t compete, why is it kept here?

Isn’t there a training ground?

All the horses kept here can compete.”

“I’m sorry, Mr.

Mu Lingchuan, it’s our fault.

This horse has a wild temper, and it ran off by itself this morning when the feeders were taking them for a walk.”

“There are high walls here.

You’re telling me it climbed over them?”

“It…

it sneaked in when the gate was open.” The manager replied with an embarrassed look.

Mu Lingchuan looked up again at Baili Xia on horseback.

Baili Xia’s eyes were full of expectation, her hands tightly clutching the reins, refusing to let go.

“You really like it that much?” He raised an eyebrow.

Baili Xia nodded vigorously: “Anyway, you guys don’t expect me to win any points in the competition, I’ll just consider it as my playmate.”

Mu Lingchuan coughed lightly, surprised to find that his thoughts had been seen through by this girl.

He felt somewhat embarrassed.

“Maybe…

you could actually score some points, who said you can’t.”

He didn’t say much else, but soothed her a bit before turning to the manager again: “When can this horse compete?”

He added, “I mean, if it’s just for fun…”

Before he could finish speaking, the little white horse started pawing the ground again.

The manager’s face changed slightly, and he immediately walked over.

He didn’t dare to touch it, but began to soothe it in a gentle voice.

“It’s okay, it’s okay, if you don’t want to compete, we won’t force you.

I’ll take you back to the training ground first, is that okay?”

The horse pawed even harder, but its body remained still.

As if it was afraid of throwing off the rider on its back.

The manager looked at the horse, then at Baili Xia, his face full of bewilderment.

“What’s going on?

Is this horse…

expensive?” Mu Lingchuan raised an eyebrow.

The manager had been working in the stables for so long and, while there were many horses here that were especially valuable, none of them required such careful handling.

Especially for an underage horse, wasn’t the manager being a little too cautious?
