Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

215: Something big has happened! That shameless old man, Luo Yonghao, wants to bet me who will have a baby first. The Zombie Cat let out a drooling roar and leapt through the air toward Ge Yue. At the critical moment of life and death, an ancient saber flew through the air and pierced the Zombie Cat’s abdomen, saving Ge Yue and buying the three of them time to escape.

”Sister Nan, we’ll help you deal with this Zombie Cat!” Ge Yue skidded to a halt and ran back.

Si Nan waved them off. ”No need. You’re no match for it. Get to the guardroom, quickly.”

”Fine.” Ge Yue looked at the Zombie Cat, which had fallen to the ground but was already scrambling back up. It was as large as a tiger, and the ancient saber was still lodged in its belly. Gritting his teeth, he continued to run; staying behind would only make them a burden.

”Come on, let’s go one-on-one.” Seeing that the hindrances had left, Si Nan drew another long ancient saber and blocked the Zombie Cat’s path from three meters away. She had finally found a powerful opponent.

Perhaps this time she could test where her limits lay after her Supernatural Ability had advanced.

”Roar—” The Zombie Cat opened its bloody maw and roared at Si Nan, baring its claws as it pounced. However, as soon as it got close, Si Nan felt like vomiting; the stench of its rotting flesh was disgusting.

Si Nan forced down her nausea and raised her saber to attack. ”Kill!”

When the ancient saber met the sharp cat claws, it surprisingly failed to slice through them. She was astonished. ”Oh, your evolution is quite impressive. Let’s go again.”

Si Nan grew excited. She loved well-evolved Zombie Beasts. Once she killed it, the crystal core she’d dig out would be excellent too. The more she fought, the more courageous and passionate she became.

Her speed was incredible—stabbing, parrying, hacking, slicing, and thrusting. Initially, the Zombie Cat could handle it with ease, but it soon realized this human was too cunning. Not only could its claws not touch the human, but its claws were being shaved down. If this continued, it would become a useless cat without claws.

”Meow—” At the critical moment, it let out its original cry, trying to trick Si Nan into letting her guard down so it could pierce the human’s chest with a claw.

However, Si Nan’s eyes widened. The ancient saber she was swinging down changed direction mid-air, suddenly slicing horizontally toward the Zombie Cat’s head. ”Oh ho, so you still know you’re just a cat? Not bad, your intelligence is decent. Let me slice off your head and see if your crystal core is as big as a duck egg!”

”Roar!” The Zombie Cat was enraged. It roared and skidded to a halt, retreating. Then it turned its backside toward Si Nan and whipped its large, mutated tail—now covered in sharp spikes—at her in a frenzy.

”Hahaha!” Si Nan laughed loudly. While dodging the tail, she found the perfect opening and chopped down.

”Awoo!” The strike hit the Zombie Cat’s large tail dead center, splitting it in two. The section with the spikes was severed, and black blood gushed out.

Seeing the black blood contaminate the ground, Si Nan’s expression turned cold. No longer playing around, she used her Supernatural Ability to control the ancient saber. With a sharp ”shink,” she decapitated the Zombie Cat.

The black blood nearly splashed onto her face. After digging out the egg-sized crystal core, she had Ge Yue pour gasoline on the black blood to burn it away. ”It seems I should deal with Zombie Beasts outside from now on, so I don’t waste the resources I worked so hard to gather.”

”Sister Nan, are you alright?” Gu Jie and the others had just arrived.

Si Nan shook her head. ”Of course I’m fine. Now, you guys get ready to come out with me. We’re going to cut down all those dead trees; otherwise, it’s too unsafe.”

”We’re already prepared.” Gu Jie stepped aside to reveal the chainsaws, machetes, and sledgehammers the group behind him had ready.

He had actually arrived a while ago. Seeing the young woman playing with the Zombie Cat as if it were a toy, he hadn’t intervened, but instead went to prepare the logging tools. Although Brother Sen had previously cleared a circle of trees within three hundred meters of the wall, animals with strong jumping abilities like cats became even more agile after evolving.
