He Traded the System for My Rebirth, and I Led Him Across the Apocalypse

41: The polar night has arrived. The fifty people from yesterday underwent another round of screening.

Those who were just trying to fish in troubled waters or had terrible reputations in the past were weeded out.

In the end, forty people remained.

Among them were over twenty Ability Users, while the rest were ordinary people.

Lin Wan and the others had already formulated the initial development plans for the base.

So, everything proceeded in an orderly fashion.

Uncle Wang had been brought over by Nian Nian last night.

Although he had no abilities, he was full of skills and would primarily be responsible for some work in the ordinary people’s sector in the future.

However, those who had left disappointed yesterday were already lining up outside the base gates in the early hours of the morning.

A person’s ability and character can be discerned from small details.

Ji Chuan and Shen Mo Chi took some of the selected Ability Users to maintain order and posted the series of rules and requirements for entering the base.

Nian Nian and Yue Yue also took people to handle registrations.

Lin Wan, meanwhile, took another good look at the base to identify areas that needed modification.

In this way, with clear division of labor and over a month of hard work, the base’s registered personnel quickly reached five hundred.

Since the base was large, the small houses in each sector were arranged in neat rows.

Lin Wan and the others certainly wouldn’t let them go to waste.

Therefore, those wishing to enter the base later would be judged based on their corresponding skills or whether they were Ability Users.

Ordinary people who met the requirements could also use Crystal Core to rent a house in Qingyun Base.

After all, no matter how large the base was, it was limited.

Without entry conditions, there wouldn’t be enough houses to accommodate everyone.

It is better to teach a man to fish than to give him a fish.

Lin Wan and the others also opened up a large planting area; although her space had black soil and the few of them certainly wouldn’t lack food or drink, for the long-term development of so many people in the base, they naturally had to research cultivation.

The Authorities were also working hard in this area, but the results were still very weak.

Although they could grow some food, the seed survival rate was less than twenty percent.

Regardless, Lin Wan had an inexhaustible supply of seeds in her space and could provide a large portion for research.

In addition, they set up a dedicated medical area and a small trading market on the periphery for everyone to exchange for what they needed.

The construction of these facilities and projects also indirectly provided a large number of jobs.

Everyone flocked to sign up, and Qingyun Base distributed corresponding supplies to them based on their positions.

Since it was all to support their families, many people cherished their jobs after obtaining them and didn’t dare to slack off in the slightest.

Once you entered Qingyun Base, not only was your personal safety guaranteed, but even as a peripheral worker, as long as you worked hard, the benefits were excellent—the supplies given even included rice from before the Apocalypse!

Therefore, people were falling over themselves just for a laborer position in the peripheral construction!

Of course, if you were found violating the rules or crossing the red line at will, you would be thrown out mercilessly and never allowed to step foot inside again.

Shen Mo Chi and Ji Chuan were also primarily responsible for training the registered Ability Users and ordinary people, with Uncle Wang assisting.

Naturally, this was mainly targeted at those five hundred base personnel.

These people had entered after layers of testing; they possessed absolute admiration and loyalty toward the Qingyun Squad and would be the backbone of Qingyun Base in the future.

Speaking of which, during the time they lived at the Official Base, Lin Wan and the others had learned quite a lot.

The Official Base was also very chaotic at the beginning, and it was only by slowly groping through experience to establish a set of rules that it became as orderly as it is now.

Lin Wan and the others essentially took advantage of what was already established and added some of their own ideas to it.

Besides being responsible for their own area, they occasionally went out to hunt high-level monsters and frequently collaborated with the Official Base.

Thus, half a year later, it was winter once again.
