A Ghost Story Unfolds: The Cannon Fodder Went Mad by Burning Ghost Money

Chapter 159 Angelina’s Tea Party 28Su Zemu waited until the glass shards had mostly finished bursting out before slowly swimming out of the main gate.

She deployed her inflatable boat, put on a life jacket and goggles, and began to calculate while familiarizing herself with the controls.

”I have clothes, food, and drink, but I’m still short on medicine... I remember there being several pharmacies on the way to Dazhai Village. Although the prescription cabinets are locked, I can just collect the whole cabinet and smash the glass when I have time, regardless of whether it’s locked or not.”

”I definitely can’t let those cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, and geese go. When the weather gets hot, I’ll need a generator to run the air conditioner, so I’ll need gasoline and diesel too. The water isn’t very deep yet, so the shops selling air conditioners and appliances shouldn’t be completely submerged. I have to find those first, otherwise, they’ll be ruined by the water and that would be the end of it.”

”The natural gas will probably be cut off in a few days, but the gas cylinders are enough. I’ve taken plenty of bowls and chopsticks from the supermarket, so I don’t need to worry about cooking. Water, however, is an issue. There’s less bottled water in the supermarket than I planned, and most of it is sugary drinks. Drinking too much of that stuff is guaranteed to cause high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol.”

This wasn’t something Su Zemu could control.

Adding up all the small bottles and large barrels of mineral water in the supermarket, it would only last about thirty years based on her water consumption needs. According to her estimation, she wouldn’t feel at ease without storing enough water to last her a lifetime.

It’s a flood now, and the caps on mineral water bottles aren’t airtight. Even if she found water in a small shop, it would definitely be undrinkable after being soaked.

While thinking, Su Zemu dove down into a pharmacy and collected the medicine along with the shelves into her space.

She couldn’t come up with a good solution, but it wasn’t a big deal. She had also stored many barrels of tap water. She had been drinking boiled tap water for decades before the natural disaster, hadn’t she? It was just slightly worse than mineral water, and in desperate times, she wasn’t that picky.

She didn’t know if it counted as luck, but there were more pharmacies than she had imagined, with one every forty or fifty meters. She had originally only intended to collect enough medicine for her own lifetime, but when the living supplies were placed right in front of her, she didn’t hesitate for even three seconds before decisively diving down again.

If she didn’t take them, they would just rot in the water. If she took them, she could exchange them for points at the base. In the end, the base could use them to save people, and she could get points to exchange for a house. It was a win-win!

There were many residential areas around the mall, and many shops for basic needs. Besides two small supermarkets, there were convenience stores like 7-Eleven. Although some of the open, processed food was no longer edible, there were still some sealed packaged items and primary agricultural products. These things just needed to be washed clean after being soaked in water.

Shops selling home appliances, school supplies, hardware, food and drinks, home textiles... Su Zemu didn’t spare a single one.

By the time she reached the shop selling water buckets, the supplies in her space had doubled again.

At a rough estimate, she couldn’t squander it all in the rest of her life even if she took a bite and spat it out, or buried her excrement with flour. Of course, she wouldn’t actually do that.

The terrain here was higher, and the inflatable boat could barely navigate. Su Zemu cherished her equipment and was afraid that if it got scratched anywhere, the loss would outweigh the gain. Therefore, she put the boat away, put on rain boots and a raincoat, and waded in slowly.

The shop owner selling water buckets had evacuated in a hurry. Those red plastic buckets had only been tied up roughly. Now that the rain was heavy and the water was rushing, the ropes had loosened significantly, and many buckets had broken free, floating scattered around the yard.

Fortunately, there was a wall around the yard, so no matter how scattered the buckets were, they were still within the yard’s perimeter. It wasn’t too difficult to collect them.
