Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Then, as if bored, it casually waved an arm. Countless Balu Monsters, sensing the demon spawn’s command, instantly sprang into action. Innumerable slimy tongues lashed out, coiling around the desiccated Demon Beast Corpses on the ground and dragging them into waiting maws to be devoured. Feasting was followed by horrifying reproduction. In a short time, the corpses on the ground were completely consumed. Meanwhile, thousands more Balu Monsters had appeared on the scene.

The demon spawn closed its eyes, sensing the number of Demon Monsters surrounding it. After a moment, it nodded in approval. ”Now, let’s head to the front and take a look. You mentioned some of the Demon Tribe have already advanced towards the city on the other side?”

”Yes, Master!” the Soot Skin Demon Fiend replied respectfully.

The demon spawn nodded. ”Then, let’s not let them go to waste! Children!” A massive shockwave of sound erupted from the demon spawn’s mouth, proving this creature was not as weak as one might imagine. Gazing at the innumerable Balu Monsters all looking towards it, the demon spawn nodded in satisfaction. ”It’s feeding time!”

Accompanied by synchronized GURGLES, the Demon Monster army marched directly towards the outpost. Moreover, behind them, Balu Monsters continued to pour ceaselessly from the black hole. The self-detonation of the giant serpent demon spawn had unleashed a horrifying swarm upon the entire outpost battlefield. A swarm of Apex Predators that even the term ’locusts’ failed to adequately describe.

Star’s speed was considerable, at least much faster than the Balu Monsters trailing behind. After all, among the vast numbers of Balu Monsters, many were low-level; these were the ones dragging down the marching speed of the entire Balu Monster army. Of course, the same could be said for the Devil Army led by the Ancient Demon, which had set out earlier towards the outpost.

As soon as Star took flight, Kuangliu was already on the communicator, requesting intelligence from the outpost. The events in the Demon City, observable by Wen Yu and Kuangliu via drone, were also visible to the commander at the outpost. Naturally, specific countermeasures had not yet been devised. Those officials, for the most part, were still mired in bureaucratic red tape and were remarkably inefficient.

This mattered little to Wen Yu. However, a piece of information from the military department was highly valuable to him. It was that the advancing group of Demon Fiends had not yet reached the vicinity of the outpost.

Commanding Star, he urged it to follow their trail and quickly pursue the Demon Group ahead. Wen Yu was resolute. He was determined to ”devour” these Demon Fiends, no matter the cost. With the points gained, his strength would significantly increase by the time he returned to the outpost.
