Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 154: Chapter 110 Escape Route (19) (8th update, bonus update in appreciation of waiting 500 years for a good book’s huge rewards!)” _1

”Change tactics!” Jiang Wentao’s deep voice resonated. ”Big Brother Sun, you should stay out of this battle. Run to the right, as far as you can!”

In a fight of this caliber, there was no room for Sun Ruixing to step in.

Sun Ruixing was not a fool. He immediately nodded and darted to the right. There were no Demon Fiends there, and none pursued him.

Because all the Demon Fiends had only one target: the Fourth Prince in William’s arms!

”Soon, we’ll need to charge forward together. Wen Yu, you and William must protect the Fourth Prince and directly kill that skeleton. Chu Ziling and I will clear the path and act as bait for you two... You two, try to conserve your energy!”

”Cyclops, hold off that big dog!”

”As for the opponents behind us...” Jiang Wentao looked gravely at Monkey, his eyes filled with complex emotions. ”Monkey, I’m sorry...”

Jiang Wentao somberly announced his strategy.

This was probably the best option they could devise in such a short time. According to Wen Yu’s earlier tactic, the Bone Demon, hidden among the puppets, could definitely use a sneak attack to eliminate William or Wen Yu. The phalanx of nearly a hundred puppets formed an uncrossable chasm for Wen Yu and William alone! The roles of Chu Ziling and Jiang Wentao were to rush to the front as bait, luring the Bone Demon’s attacks and clearing the way for them. Thus, the three Demon Fiends at their rear would be left for Monkey to face alone.

Although Monkey’s class and combat style were suited for handling multiple enemies, although Monkey’s combat prowess was high, and although Monkey’s actual strength couldn’t be measured by his level; for Monkey, lacking ammunition and possessing only the strength of a Level 2 professionist, to single-handedly face three third-level Demon Fiends... the outcome was all too clear.

”Understood, Captain,” Monkey said, quietly saluting. He then drew two handguns and charged at the Demon Fiends behind him.

”Action!” Jiang Wentao roared, as if to vent all his frustrations, rushing straight into the horde of puppets.

Wen Yu barely suppressed the trembling in his heart, pulled up the dazed William, and followed closely behind Jiang Wentao and Chu Ziling.

At the very front, Jiang Wentao and Chu Ziling had already engaged the puppet horde.

His hardened Knuckle Duster shot out, shattering the puppet ahead, while a loud explosion erupted from Jiang Wentao’s fist.

This was a skill he had acquired at Level 3.

Explosive Punch (C-Class, Active Ability).

The force of the Explosive Punch directly obliterated this puppet, while the aftershock of the blast sent several puppets behind it flying.

”Their physical attributes are around 20 points,” Jiang Wentao urgently relayed to the others behind him.

Meanwhile, Chu Ziling, positioned behind Jiang Wentao with flames enveloping his fists, swiftly dispatched several puppets ahead, clearing a path for William and Wen Yu behind him.

At this moment, Cyclops and the summoned Three-headed Demon Dog had already engaged in a fierce fight.

The battle between them was utterly one-sided!

Even though Cyclops’s skills were formidable, the disparity in physical attributes—the dog’s being more than double his own—still sent Cyclops flying with a direct hit!

Then, the Three-headed Demon Dog, completely ignoring the others trapped within the puppet horde, pounced at Cyclops once more.

CLACK. CLACK.

A grinding of bones was heard, and then a strange voice issued from the Silver-White Skeleton’s mouth. ”You stupid beast! Get back here and kill the mission target!”

The Silver-White Skeleton let out a roar, its voice sounding somewhat hollow and distant.

Wen Yu’s heart tightened. If the Three-headed Demon Dog turned its attention to them, a bloody massacre would await them!

However, the situation underwent a slight change.

The Three-headed Demon Dog, which had been charging at Cyclops, gradually slowed to a halt. It roared directly at the Silver-White Skeleton, and simultaneously, a giant fireball shot straight towards the skeleton!

The massive fireball traveled slowly, so the Silver-White Skeleton easily dodged it. However, one only needed to see the violent flickering of the flames within the Silver-White Skeleton’s skull to understand how embarrassing this situation was for it.
