You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

339: Section 339Previously, Ma Liuyun had been quite optimistic about the future of League of Legends, believing that this game would definitely surpass Dota, at least in Yan Country. Even so, his prediction was only three million.

But the number they just heard was three times Ma Liuyun’s prediction!

”You, what did you just say?”

”We must have misheard, right?”

After swallowing a mouthful of saliva.

Zheng Haidi quickly spoke.

At this moment, the smile on his face remained stiff, and his entire face looked quite strange.

”You didn’t mishear.”

”The latest daily active user data for League of Legends announced on major social platforms...”

”Is ten million!”

As he spoke.

He aimed the tablet screen at the others, allowing them to also see the information posted by the official League of Legends Weibo account.

The next second.

Everyone instantly rushed to the person, snatched the tablet, and began to check.

When they saw that the person hadn’t been lying and that the official League of Legends Weibo account had indeed announced this data, everyone’s faces turned somewhat pale.

Because this data...

Had far exceeded all their previous imaginations.

The current time.

Less than twenty days had passed since League of Legends’ open beta.

In twenty days, a PC game could have a stable daily active user count of ten million. This achievement could no longer be described as terrifying; no gaming company globally had ever achieved such an exaggerated feat...

If this data was real, then Dota truly didn’t even have the qualifications to carry League of Legends’ shoes.

”Impossible, impossible.”

”This data must be fake. How could this trash game have so many players?”

After seeing this data.

Zheng Haidi was the first to shake his head, indicating disbelief.

In fact.

It wasn’t just him; the other people in the conference room at this moment also had some doubts about the authenticity of this data.

In their opinion.

The possibility of the League of Legends official Weibo operator making a mistake in the numbers was greater than the possibility of League of Legends truly having ten million daily active users.

Even Ma Liuyun.

At this moment, he was also constantly shaking his head as he looked at this number.

”It can’t be that many.”

”This number is indeed too exaggerated.”

Ma Liuyun looked up at the others.

”Could it be...”

”That they released this number while League of Legends’ daily active users were still declining?”

”The ten million figure is actually still on a downward curve and isn’t stable. To create a buzz, League of Legends intentionally did this.”

Ma Liuyun paused.

”We previously did mathematical models for various promotional activities. For promotions that directly offered cash Red Envelopes to download software, the number of users would decrease by one-half to one-third within twenty-four hours after the event ended, and by another one-quarter to one-sixth after forty-eight hours.”

”Although the number of users decreasing daily after 5.9 would gradually lessen, it would be a long-term downward process, typically taking half a month to truly stabilize. But only a week has passed now.”

”League of Legends likely released this data without waiting for the players to completely stabilize.”

As Ma Liuyun’s voice sounded.

The expressions of the others in the room also relaxed considerably, without the tension from before.

After all, a PC game with ten million daily active users in twenty days—that number was indeed a bit too frightening.

Ma Liuyun’s explanation was more reasonable.

But listening to Ma Liuyun’s voice.

The Tencent employee who had just pushed open the door to report this information shook his head again, his face looking even paler.

”This number...”

”Is the result after stabilization.”
