Online Game: My Decay Drives the Entire Server Crazy

Lin Ye turned and walked toward the teleportation array. After two steps, he stopped and looked back at Kim Hyun-tae: ”I’ve left a backdoor on you. If you dare to bully the Novice Village and freelance players again, the debuff will trigger automatically. Next time it won’t be pig squeals, it will be chicken calls—the kind where a rooster crows—and it will ring in your game pod promptly at six o’clock every morning for an hour.”

Kim Hyun-tae’s whole face turned pale, and he slumped to the ground.

The surrounding freelance Korean Server players put away their weapons one after another and made a path. Lin Ye stepped onto the teleportation array, a flash of black-purple light, and he disappeared from the Korean Server Main City Square.

The video of the collective pig squealing on the Korean Server forum had spread across all servers globally. Yamada Ichiro of the Japanese Server watched the pathetic sight of Kim Hyun-tae lying on the ground squealing like a pig in the video and opened a private message to send a message to William of the US Server: ”We agreed before to go to the Chinese Server to cause trouble; are we still going?” William replied instantly: ”Go to hell. You go, you go.” Yamada Ichiro sent another message: ”Then should we pay the protection fee in advance?” William was silent for a long time: ”Wait until Kim Hyun-tae finishes paying and see the amount before deciding.”

Kim Hyun-tae slumped in the Seoul City Square, and the surrounding crowd of onlookers gradually dispersed. Park Min-ho walked over cautiously to help him up and whispered: ”President, should we apologize?”

Kim Hyun-tae closed his eyes, and a sentence squeezed from his throat: ”Apologize. Apologize now. Open the guild treasury and pay the money. After paying, we’ll think of a way.”

He reopened the cross-server channel, his fingers hovering over the virtual keyboard, trembling for a long while before he could type the words out: ”I, Kim Hyun-tae, representing the Goryeo War God Temple, sincerely apologize to all players in the Chinese Server’s Novice Village who were maliciously killed by us. We violated the rules of friendly cross-server sparring and are willing to compensate all victims with ten thousand gold coins each. At the same time, I would like to say sorry to all players in the Chinese Server.”

After the apology statement was sent, the cross-server channel was silent. Then the Chinese Server players started spamming the screen.

”Kim Hyun-tae apologized! Brother Ye really went to the Korean Server!”

”Did you guys see that video on the Korean Server forum? The Goryeo War God Temple collectively turned into pigs, hahahaha!”

”President Kim, next time you come to the Chinese Server, remember to buy a Cross-Server Protection Package first. The basic version is ten thousand gold coins, guaranteed to keep you from turning into a pig.”

Kim Hyun-tae closed the cross-server channel. He really couldn’t bear to look at these taunts any longer.

The sound of pig squealing that had echoed over the Seoul City Square became an indelible memory of the Goryeo War God Temple in the hearts of players across all servers. At this moment, Lin Ye had already returned to Dawn City and was sitting by the window on the third floor of the Unscrupulous Business Center, holding the tea that Fatty Wang had just brewed. The tea was still hot.

Fatty Wang stood by with a tablet, and the screen was refreshing in real-time with the compensation transfer records from the Goryeo War God Temple: ”Brother, Kim Hyun-tae is really paying the money. Every transaction is arriving.”

Lin Ye took a sip of tea: ”It’s not because he’s conscientious; it’s the backdoor I left. If he dares to renege on the debt, the game pod will crow promptly at six o’clock tomorrow morning.”

Su Qinghan sat opposite, flipping through the messages on the cross-server channel, and couldn’t help but laugh softly: ”The Japanese Server and the US Server seem to be panicking. Yamada Ichiro and William are both inquiring about your itinerary. They are afraid that you will go to find them next.”

Lin Ye put down his teacup: ”Kim Hyun-tae likes to show off, so let him be an example, so that those who follow won’t have any extra thoughts. In the afternoon, send a Korean Server package price list to Yamada Ichiro and William each. After seeing Kim Hyun-tae’s fate, they should be very willing to pay the protection fee in advance.”
