I, the Destined Villain, Start by Controlling the Saint

Did she have some unspeakable secret? Was she hiding something from him? Why did her eyes show a look of relief?

One mystery after another entangled Liu Chen’s heart.

He felt that the events of ten thousand years ago were not as simple as he had imagined.

Recalling every moment of their past, every second Shen Biru spent with him, even though they had never had any intimate contact, he felt their affection was as deep as the sea.

She would always happily accept the many gifts he gave her and sweetly call him Brother Liu Chen.

She had said that only he was worthy of her calling him Brother Liu Chen. Such unique love, how could she bear to kill him?!

Suddenly, a mass of grayish-black mist dispersed from Shen Biru’s already fading body.

Within it, a seductive female voice echoed.

”Damn it, how dare you suppress me.”

”Stupid woman, for the sake of a dog of a man, you actually seek death. How utterly foolish!”

While Liu Chen was still pondering, a mass of gray Qi that had emerged from Shen Biru’s body actually condensed into a beautiful woman who looked exactly like Shen Biru.

The only difference was that this woman made of gray mist was incredibly enchanting, and her tone was filled with disdain, looking at everyone with utter contempt.

Then, she transformed into wisps of smoke and vanished.

Only Shen Biru remained, her face pale and clinging to life, collapsed on the ground.

Even though she was on the verge of death, a relaxed smile still graced her face, which was completely inconsistent with the usual mindset of someone dying.

There must be a problem!

Liu Chen concluded in his heart.

In fact, from the first moment he saw Shen Biru, Liu Chen had already made up his mind; he truly, deep down, still deeply loved the woman who had stabbed him.

He didn’t want her to die, but he needed an excuse to spare her, and now, an excuse had appeared!

There was more to this matter than met the eye!

Liu Chen flew down from the imperial throne. He instructed the palace maids to help Shen Biru up, while he himself took out a healing immortal medicine he had treasured for many years and fed it to her.

Many of the officials in the imperial court were from the previous dynasty, loyal subjects who had followed the Liu imperial Family and fought alongside Liu Chen to restore the kingdom.

Many of them had been persecuted by the Shen Family for refusing to obey the Great Chu Immortal Dynasty’s conscription, and thus held a deep-seated blood feud with the Great Chu Immortal Dynasty.

They wished for the entire Shen Family to be wiped out, not a single one left!

Seeing Liu Chen save Shen Biru, the former Empress, someone immediately stepped forward and said, ”Your Majesty, what are you doing?”

”She is our enemy, Your Majesty. Why would you waste divine medicine to save her?”

”I clearly remember her ruthlessness. All eighty-seven thousand five hundred thirty-one members of my Wu Family were exterminated, even their ten collateral families, just because someone spoke ill of her.”

Liu Chen was unconcerned.

”There’s more to this matter than meets the eye. She cannot die without clarity.”

Ignoring them, Liu Chen felt the treatment was difficult, and he even unhesitatingly sacrificed his Foundation true essence to save her.

The atmosphere in the court was somewhat heavy, as many people were discontent, leading to a somewhat oppressive mood.

Liu Chen keenly sensed this and said, ”I just want to clarify the facts and see who is truly supporting her from behind the scenes.”

”If you have grievances, do I not also?”

”In that catastrophe ten thousand years ago, tens of millions of my Liu Family members were eradicated, leaving only me and a dozen or so blood relatives.”

”Is your hatred as deep as mine?”

Everyone fell silent.

Liu Chen said, ”Don’t worry, I just want to find out the truth, nothing more.”

His words gained approval, and even those who didn’t approve dared not say much.

”I hope Your Majesty remembers what you said today.”

...

The next day.

Liu Chen publicly announced his intention to make Shen Biru his Empress.

This left the officials dumbfounded. No, you can make anyone your Empress, but why would you make the daughter of the person who exterminated your entire clan your Empress?

Is the power of childhood sweethearts really that strong?

Making an Empress is not a matter of emotion; it’s a matter of vested interests!

Immediately, some courtiers objected.

However, they were all refuted one by one as Liu Chen explained the reason.

It turned out that Shen Biru was controlled at that time.
