Chapter 1001: Chapter 351: Battle Against the Ancestor Dragon Again (Double-Length Chapter)

“Hm? Letting Lord Rein handle the White-furred Bear Monsters?” Merita’s eyes widened, wearing an expression as if she was looking at an idiot, staring at Crutz, who was responsible for the specific action arrangements of the First Level Wizard.

However, Rein just laughed.

For him, this actually counted as a good thing.

At the time, Merita and he had agreed to help Winterfort Academy slay that Ancestor Dragon, but they hadn’t specifically discussed how to help.

Logically speaking, according to Winterfort Academy’s request, Rein assisting in blocking the White-furred Bear Monsters was in line with the agreement.

As long as he got a chance to obtain a bit of Dragon Blood in the end.

“Merita, if Winterfort Academy can manage that Ancestor Dragon, that would be a good thing too.”

“This… Sigh! Let’s hope so, Lord Rein. Let’s just go over there first.” After hearing that, Merita sighed but didn’t insist on going to Crutz to change the battle task.

“Don’t worry, Merita, if anything really happens, do you think Rein would just stand by and watch?” Anna tugged Merita’s sleeve, comforting her.

“That’s true.” Merita suddenly understood something, her eyes lighting up, nodding.

…

Winterfort Academy raised a number of Ice Plain Giant Vultures, generally allowing two Official Wizards to ride on one together.

So, after the battle task deployment was complete, very soon, more than a dozen Ice Plain Giant Vultures, plus an Ice Plain Chimera, flew towards their destination — the lair of Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius.

Since the Horned Owl Beast was relatively slower, Rein took the three women with him, trailing far behind on the Blood Feather.

This made the Official Wizards of Winterfort Academy gnash their teeth in frustration.

Bringing three female companions?

Damn, is this a fight or something?

…

About two hours later.

When the group arrived near Kolaxius’s lair, they found that the initially more frequently appearing White-furred Bear Monsters seemed to have suddenly decreased in number.

“Huh? The numbers of White-furred Bear Monsters have significantly decreased, is it because the frequent battles have caused heavy casualties?”

“No, if the Ancestor Dragon is indeed injured, most of the White-furred Bear Monsters should be inside the lair for defense, as it’s their duty as vassals.”

“Exactly, let’s go to the lair entrance and see.”

As the Ice Plain Giant Vultures landed, a small number of White-furred Bear Monsters in the vicinity didn’t even have time to sound the alarm before being quickly eliminated.

Under the lead of Winterfort Academy’s high-ranking members, the group charged forward with unstoppable momentum, making it all the way to the main entrance of Kolaxius’s lair.

At this moment, Rein and his party, who had just arrived, also reached the lair entrance. Though called a lair, it was actually a huge glacial cave.

Moreover, seemingly due to the Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius’s exceptionally large size, this cave alone rose to a height of forty to fifty meters, with a slightly smaller diameter but still over thirty meters.

At this time, it seemed the White-furred Bear Monsters inside had also reacted, as successive roars echoed from within the cave.

Immediately afterward, a dense swarm of White-furred Bear Monsters rushed out, organizing a defense at the entrance.

Seeing this scene, Batalov and Werti exchanged a smile and said:

“Looks like Kolaxius is indeed heavily injured, you see, the density of Bear Monsters here is much higher than outside.”

“Moreover, given Kolaxius’s temperament last time, seeing us provoking at the entrance, it would’ve come out to battle a long time ago.”

“This means the opponent’s injuries must be severe this time!”

Hearing the two’s analysis, the Chimera Knight Luther, holding a giant spiked Tower Shield, appeared slightly more at ease.

Meanwhile, the tension of the First Level Wizards behind him dissipated greatly.

“That’s great.”

“However, you all need to be cautious. Even a heavily injured Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius, its desperate counterattack is not something you can withstand,” the graceful Werti turned to the First Level Wizards behind her and reminded them.

“Your main focus should be on dealing with the White-furred Bear Monsters, not aiming for the title of Dragon Slayer.”
