Chapter 751: Chapter 288: Fusion (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_4

Because according to the current power of the Great Hunting God, it’s rare for Him to directly enhance the strength of His followers.

Especially for those who wish to please the deities through sacrifice and step into the Legendary Level, the required sacrificial ritual would have to be earth-shattering.

As time passed, perhaps it would be possible when the Empire’s situation became more volatile.

But for now, it’s still not feasible.

Yet the person before him aimed to step into the rank of a Third-level Crystallized Wizard by his own power, which left him at a loss for words.

“Don’t resist.”

Freeman hadn’t even processed the meaning when Exeter suddenly pointed at him.

“Dark Healing!”

A black stream of air suddenly swirled around Freeman and within two or three seconds, his wounds had completely healed, leaving no trace behind.

“Nearly instant-cast Level 1 shadow witchcraft.”

“Great Priest, you…” Freeman’s face was blank with astonishment.

“Yes, I’ve successfully stepped into the rank of Crystallization Wizard a few days ago.”

Seeing that his own Great Priest had truly stepped into the Legendary Level using his own power, Freeman’s mind went blank, unsure of what to say next.

He also felt a deep sense of discouragement.

He had once thought about replacing the other but now, that seemed like a joke.

The other didn’t even consider him as a rival.

After some thought, Freeman detailed the encounter to Exeter.

“What? The ancient hero Mong died, killed by a young Sword Bearer of the Empire?” Exeter was shocked to hear the cause of the failure.

He knew all too well the strength of the ancient hero Mong, one of the seven ancient heroes in the history of the Black Flame Cult, even though his power plummeted from the epic strata.

But after all, the strength of the Legendary Level was still there.

“…What do you think of this Rein’s strength?” Exeter asked, frowning.

“A Great Knight and Level 1 Wizard, but the power he showed has already reached near Legendary.” Freeman stated with certainty.

“Perhaps, this Rein is the illegitimate child of some great noble of the Empire,” Exeter said.

“Do you mean he possesses some kind of bloodline, the offspring of a bloodline noble?”

“Yes, from what you’ve just told me about his body’s enlargement, at least three of the Empire’s bloodline nobles have bloodline talents that exhibit this trait when erupting.”

Freeman looked surprised, but then he nodded his head, showing an understanding.

“No wonder, that would explain why Rein’s combat power is so strong!”

“As for the ability to harm the soul that you mentioned, I suspect it’s probably the special effect of some Sorcery Scroll; you know, these scions of great nobles always have some trump cards,” Exeter contemplated and said.

“Very likely, Great Priest, what should we do next then?”

The death of the ancient hero Mong affected a series of subsequent events of the church.

“As allies, I’ll need you to communicate with the Secret Snake Sect about the two envoys who died, let them know who killed them,” Exeter said.

“Also, take advantage of the unrest in Mingster and hurry to conduct the ritual of blood sacrifice to collect Blood Crystals; the day of the ennoblement ceremony is coming soon.”

“The day of ennoblement?” Freeman’s expression became puzzled. He understood the first part but was unclear about the latter. What did the day of ennoblement have to do with them?

“Every year during the last Sunday of the Month of Green Grass, new Barons and Viscounts throughout the province of Mingster come to the provincial city for the official ennoblement ceremony.”

“At that time, I intend to hold a high-quality sacrificial ritual,” Exeter said with a smile.

Freeman looked at his Great Priest in shock; only now did he realize the magnitude of the other’s ambition.

Was he aiming to please the deities and step to the next level?
