112: Author’s Note on the Launch of Chapter 112As the title suggests, my editor suddenly told me to get my ass to the VIP section.

It caught me a bit off guard.

After collecting myself, I thought I’d take this opportunity to have a chat with everyone.

First, the most important thing: updates.

Because it was so sudden, I wasn’t fully prepared. There will be three chapters today, and I’ll make up for it with two extra tomorrow, which amounts to 10,000 words a day.

Thanks to my day job being quite relaxed, I’ll basically maintain a 10,000-word daily pace moving forward, or at least 8,000.

Next, let’s talk about the plot in the early stages.

Many people have said that the plotlines for Su Biqing and Mora are cliché.

When I was drafting the outline, I didn’t plan to write much about these two characters; they were simply meant to serve as catalysts in the beginning.

So, when I was thinking about their plotlines, I just went with the first thing that came to mind—yeah, that’ll do.

Looking back now, even I can’t help but cringe a bit; it really does feel like something from ten years ago.

I’m not making excuses, but after Chapter 30, you basically won’t see their storylines anymore because I didn’t plan any for them.

Then, there’s the issue of plot progression.

When I started the book, I thought: with two worlds progressing simultaneously, there would be so much to write about!

However, you win some, you lose some. The vast potential for expansion has inevitably caused the plot’s pace to slow down.

Primarily, the gains from both worlds must be interconnected.

Some people keep commenting for me to speed up, but the essential elements cannot be omitted.

For example, the Hogwarts plotline was originally scheduled to start around the 300,000-word mark.

But when I saw that many people wanted to read it, I moved it forward. The result was less than ideal.

I think you’ve noticed too—the part about going abroad feels very abrupt.

Ad slot: Chapter read

It’s like a drop of black ink on a white sheet of paper; no matter how you look at it, it’s an eyesore.

In my original plan, I was going to use the Special Investigation Bureau to introduce its foreign counterparts before unfolding the Magic Academy plot.

Moving on, let’s talk about everyone’s comments.

I occasionally browse through the comments in the backend, and my deepest realization is that mutual understanding between humans is a very difficult thing.

For any given plot point, some say it’s good while others say it’s bad.

Differences in values and personalities lead to completely different views on the same action.

I can only try my best to balance this.

Then there are those who say a certain action is unreasonable; this is the most common type of debate.

Regarding this, whether an action is reasonable doesn’t depend on the action itself, but on the person performing it.

If I wrote Zhang Mu returning good for evil, you guys would flame me to death.

It’s reasonable for a psychopath to kill, but it’s unreasonable for someone who lives a leisurely, carefree life with no enemies and financial freedom to kill.

On this point, I personally believe that as long as the character’s persona doesn’t break, it’s fine.

Further down, there are people flaming my writing style as trash.

I won’t talk back to that, but one thing: some readers say I don’t distinguish between the particles ’ of’ (de), ’ have to’ (de), and ’ land’ (de).

Do I... do I really not know that ’ land’ (de) is followed by a verb?

I just intentionally avoid using ’ land’ (de) for the sake of reading flow.

Ask yourselves: when you’re reading a novel and see ’ land,’ is your first instinct to read it as ’di’ or ’de’?

Most probably read it as ’di,’ and only realize it after reading the following content, then have to scan back over it.

Lastly, I hope everyone can support me with a first-chapter subscription—it’s only thirty cents, but it makes the stats look better.

I will carefully polish the rest of the story and present it to you. To the readers who like it, let’s walk this path together.

That’s all for now. As for the QQ group, I’ll set it up when I have some free time.
