The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 535: Chapter 535: President Zheng, Do You Dare Chug a Bottle of Moutai with Me?

After sending the text, He Zhixuan finally let out a small sigh of relief.

Liu Ruyan finished pouring the wine and cast a slightly worried glance at He Zhixuan. ”Zhixuan, if you can’t handle it, don’t force yourself.”

He Zhixuan offered a faint smile. ”Don’t worry, Ruyan.”

He Zhixuan picked up her wine glass and swirled it gently. It looked as if she were examining the wine’s legs, but she was actually checking for anything wrong with the wine or the glass.

The liquid was clear and transparent, with no sediment, which meant the wine itself was fine.

But when He Zhixuan looked at the rim of the glass, her pupils contracted slightly!

On the rim of the glass, she saw a very, very faint powdery substance!

He Zhixuan was sure of it now. This drinking party was a trap set just for her!

’I knew Pei Yuanbin wouldn’t be so kind as to break off our engagement of his own accord!’

’I hope he gets here soon!’

’And I have to buy myself more time!’

He Zhixuan fought back a wave of dizziness and took the initiative, raising her glass to Zheng Longxiang.

”It’s an honor to meet a titan like you, President Zheng! Here’s to you! I’ll down mine, you can do as you please!”

With that, He Zhixuan raised her glass and drained it in one go.

He Zhixuan was very particular about where she drank from, choosing the same spot where she had just tasted the powder, thereby minimizing her intake.

Despite her caution, she still ingested a tiny amount. The faces of the three people before her began to blur into double images.

Zheng Longxiang grinned. ”How could I take it easy when Dr. He is proposing the toast? I’ll down mine as well.”

GULP. Zheng Longxiang drained his glass.

After downing three glasses in a row, even with untainted wine, Zheng Longxiang was starting to feel a buzz. He gave Pei Yuanbin an almost imperceptible look, signaling him to step up and propose a toast.

Pei Yuanbin got the message. He quickly refilled He Zhixuan’s glass and said with a smile, ”Zhixuan, let’s the two of us have a drink. Consider it a clean break with the past!”

The dizziness was growing more intense. She was absolutely certain that if she ingested any more of the powder, she would pass out.

’I absolutely cannot fall asleep!’

He Zhixuan picked up her glass with one hand and dug the fingers of her other hand forcefully into her thigh.

A sharp pain shot through her, relieving the dizziness considerably.

”Fine! Let’s drink to that! From now on, President Pei and I will go our separate ways and have nothing more to do with each other!”

He Zhixuan tilted her head back and drained the glass.

Even with the sharp pain in her thigh, He Zhixuan was losing her struggle to stay conscious. Her head suddenly drooped, and if her arms hadn’t been propped up on the coffee table, she would have passed out right then and there.

He Zhixuan knew she couldn’t drink from that glass again. She announced loudly, ”This red wine isn’t hitting the spot. Let’s drink some liquor!”

With that, she grabbed a nearby bottle of Maotai and deftly twisted off the cap.

He Zhixuan slammed the open bottle down in front of Zheng Longxiang, her eyes full of provocation. ”President Zheng, you dare chug a bottle of this with me?”

No man could possibly tolerate being challenged like that!

Zheng Longxiang laughed. ”Why wouldn’t I? Bring it on!”

”Good! That’s the spirit!”

He Zhixuan opened another bottle of Maotai for herself, forcefully clinked it against Zheng Longxiang’s, and began to chug it down. GULP, GULP, GULP!

Not to be outdone, Zheng Longxiang also grabbed his Maotai and started pouring it down his throat. After all, he had the Hangover Prevention Medicine from Prince Duan. Even if he got dead drunk, one pill would sober him right up.

He Zhixuan managed to drink about a third of the bottle before her vision went black and she collapsed onto the table, out cold.

But a faint smile touched He Zhixuan’s lips, because Zheng Longxiang had collapsed in a heap after drinking less than she had.

’That should count as drinking with President Zheng, right?’

’And since President Zheng is drunk, he’s no threat to me at all.’

’As for Pei Yuanbin, I’m sure Ruyan will protect me.’

Unfortunately, as good as He Zhixuan’s plan was, she had failed to account for Zheng Longxiang having an Antidote for Alcohol.

Liu Ruyan said, ”Yuan Bin, President Zheng is drunk. Why don’t you help him to the inner room to rest?”
