Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 3046: Chapter 2982: The Girl He Likes

Ma Guoqun found himself at a loss for words for a moment, ”Alright, alright, if my mom wants to go, I can’t stop her. But the ’genius’ from Uncle’s family doesn’t have a partner yet, does he?”

”Are you talking about Erran?”

Just as Father Ma was about to speak, his wife returned, pushing the door open, and hearing his words, she instinctively asked, ”What’s up with Erran?”

That nephew was also her pride. She often bragged to others about her nephew being an incredibly talented scientist, conveniently omitting the ’nephew’ part.

”Mom, does Zeng Erran have a girlfriend?” Ma Guoqun asked.

”I happened to hear your uncle and aunt talking about it today,” Mother Ma mentioned with excitement, ”Hasn’t Erran always been solely focused on studying from a young age? Your aunt is worried he might turn into an idiot from all that research. Considering Erran is already twenty-seven and never shown interest in any girl, wouldn’t your aunt and uncle be concerned?”

Ma Guoqun snorted and said, ”In my opinion, Zeng Erran has already fried his brains with research. Just look at his behavior and way of dealing with people, what’s normal about him? He doesn’t seem like a bookworm; he seems like a lunatic.”

”Guoqun!”

Father Ma and Mother Ma reprimanded him in unison.

No matter what Zeng Erran is like, how is it his place to criticize?

The Ma Family still depended on the Zeng Family’s support.

”If your uncle and aunt heard you say things like this, don’t even think about keeping your job at the radio station.” Mother Ma glared at him.

”But we’re at home, right?” Ma Guoqun frowned, ”Look at how scared you are. I wouldn’t say this outside. What were they saying about Zeng Erran at home?”

”They said Erran seemed to have an epiphany and found himself a girl!” said Mother Ma.

Upon hearing this, Ma Guoqun couldn’t help but burst out laughing, looking at her in disbelief, ”No way, right? That weirdo who treats experiments like his wife actually found a girl?”

Father Ma gave him a pat, ”Even at home, be careful of what you say!”

”No, it’s just that I’m shocked, Dad. You know how Erran is, does that guy even like women? I doubt he even knows what a woman is, hahaha.”

At this, Ma Guoqun couldn’t help but laugh.

”That’s just what I heard.”

”Did they say what kind of girl caught Erran’s eye? Could it be a sow?” Ma Guoqun was still laughing uncontrollably, ”I’m just saying, with someone like Erran, his taste in women might be different from us normal folks.”

”I heard she’s a very beautiful girl!” Mother Ma glared at him again, ”Enough about him, how about you? How did the meeting with that journalist girl go today?”

Father Ma chimed in from the side, ”He said she’s alright, worth getting to know.”

”That’s good then,” Mother Ma sighed in relief, ”Take your time, and bring the journalist girl home sometime for your dad and me to meet.”

Ma Guoqun had thought Ji Qin was quite good earlier, but now he was having different thoughts.

”Mom, tell me what Zeng Erran’s girl looks like? Their family always thinks I’m no match for Erran, but I can’t lose to him in this matter, can I? I have to find someone prettier than the girl he picked.”

”Don’t mess around! Why would you compare with Erran on this? Competing over such things is pointless.” Mother Ma almost fainted, ”I’ve heard that journalist girl is quite nice; you should focus on getting to know her better!”
