Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 3005: Chapter 2941: It’s My First Time Getting Married

So during this period, if there really wasn’t anything going on, whenever Jiang Xiao called it was just to make sure nothing had happened to Jiang Shiheng over there, that he was doing okay; she didn’t say much about anything else.

”Looks like I’m actually the one with the most free time now.”

Jiang Xiao said, a little self-deprecatingly.

Honestly she still wasn’t quite used to it, because before she’d really felt she was way too busy, worrying about everything. But now she suddenly realized that everything and everyone around her already had people dealing with things, and she, on the contrary, seemed to have become the most idle one all at once.

Meng Xinian pinched her nose and said irritably, ”Having a bit of free time isn’t a good thing? You don’t get it, this is what your life is supposed to look like—go to class, get out of class, do homework. And when you’re done with homework and have nothing to do, that’s exactly when you should go have fun with your classmates.”

This is what a college student’s life is supposed to be.

What college student lives like she did before?

So busy she couldn’t catch her breath, running all over the place, even digging up graves.

Now that she finally has a chance to breathe, she’s actually complaining that it’s too idle?

”I don’t even know what to play with them now,” Jiang Xiao couldn’t help blinking. ”In my class, the one I’m closest to is Jin Lei. Am I supposed to go out and hang with him every day?”

She’d heard that lately Jin Lei and the others were into playing ball games, and that those guys were even messing around with some kind of dancing.

The moment Meng Xinian heard that, his face went dark.

What?

Out of so many classmates, the one she’s closest to is Jin Lei?

Even though he knew Jiang Xiao and Jin Lei wouldn’t have anything romantic going on, he still didn’t want Jiang Xiao constantly hanging around with Jin Lei.

Men and women are different, after all.

If Jiang Xiao kept mixing with a bunch of male classmates all the time, he’d get jealous too. As her legit fiancé he didn’t even have that much time to stay by her side, so those punk kids shouldn’t even think about it.

”Why don’t you go find Wang Yi more often? Aren’t they busy preparing their wedding now? You can watch and learn a bit. When it’s our turn, we’ll have some experience, and based on what they do, we can make certain parts of ours even better.”

Jiang Xiao shot him a sideways look.

Was he seriously still trying to one-up Chen Yin on the wedding thing?

This is marriage—what’s there to compete over?

”What’s that look supposed to mean?” Meng Xinian couldn’t help pinching her nose again. ”I don’t have any ulterior motives, okay? I just think our wedding should be done as nicely as possible. That’s not wrong, is it? I’m afraid I’ll be nervous that day.”

Hearing him say he’d be nervous that day, Jiang Xiao couldn’t hold back a little snort of laughter.

”What’s there to be nervous about? You don’t even get nervous going into battle, but you’re nervous about getting married?”

”Is that so strange?” Meng Xinian said as if it were obvious. ”I’ve done the whole battle thing a lot. Getting married is my first time.”

”Sounds like you’re keen on gaining a few more rounds of experience.”

”Kids say the darndest things!” Meng Xinian glared at her. ”In this lifetime I’m tied to you. You’re never getting out of the palm of my hand!”

”What are you, the Demon King?” Jiang Xiao couldn’t help laughing again.

Can’t get out of his palm, huh!

Still, she did take Meng Xinian’s advice, and whenever she had time after class she went to look for Wang Yi.

Even if she herself didn’t feel nervous, it was still good to learn how a wedding was supposed to be organized, since their own wedding was literally next month.
