Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2912: Chapter 2848: Strive for It Yourself

Jiang Xiao didn’t speak, listening as he continued.

”An old colleague came to see me before, gave me a hint, said that there were some complications with that project, and the current person in charge was removed. Commander Cui was very angry because the problem that occurred could have been avoided if the person in charge had been more careful.”

”Commander Cui?”

”Yes, you may not have heard of Commander Cui?”

”No, I know him.”

How could I not have heard of him?

Of course, now I’ve definitely heard of him.

”Hmm, I’ve heard of him.” Meng Chaojun said, ”It’s not convenient for me to disclose what kind of project it is, but my point is, during this time while I’m recuperating at home, it’s been quite boring with nothing else to do, so I’ve made a lot of recommendation reports about that project back then, as well as some management methods.”

As Meng Chaojun spoke, he opened the drawer and took out a thick stack of notebooks.

”These are all written by me. I’m now very confident about handling that project, and I want to try to meet Commander Cui myself and hand these to him.”

Because it’s confidential, Jiang Xiao certainly didn’t insist on seeing those notebooks.

But she trusted Meng Chaojun in this; he wouldn’t lie to her or joke about such matters.

”So how do you plan to meet Commander Cui?”

Hearing Jiang Xiao’s question, Meng Chaojun sighed and said, ”Indeed, meeting Commander Cui is not that easy, so I want to ask you first, if I really take on this project again, can my health support it? If it’s possible, I’ll find a way to meet Commander Cui. If you say it’s not, then I’ll give up the idea.”

He is now filled with remorse, and he thinks about Nian Chengcheng day and night.

The pain in his heart had nowhere to go, so he could only entrust it to his work.

If he stays at home doing nothing all day, he’s afraid he won’t be able to hold on.

But he can’t die.

He can’t miss Meng Xi and Jiang Xiao’s wedding.

He still wants to see their child born.

In that way, if there really is an afterlife, if he could see Nian Chengcheng, at least he could talk to her about his daughter-in-law, his grandchildren.

Talk about their son’s happiness.

Moreover, he must live longer and not let his death delay his son’s marriage.

If possible, he wants to make more effort so that he has the ability to help his son and daughter-in-law in the future, rather than becoming a burden to them.

So, Meng Xi really wants to return to his position.

Jiang Xiao sized him up and said, ”In my opinion, it shouldn’t be a problem.”

”Really?”

Meng Chaojun’s eyes immediately lit up.

No matter what, hearing that there’s not too much of a problem with his health and that he can still give it a shot, his mood suddenly brightened.

”Yes, but for now you can’t overwork yourself. You need to rest, and you must not miss the medicine I prepared for you for even one day.”

”Of course, of course.”

Jiang Xiao was silent for a moment, ”Do you have a way to meet Commander Cui?”

”Not yet, but I can schedule an appointment. It depends on whether Commander Cui wants to see me. I’ll figure something out, it’s just a matter of time.”

”Alright.”

After leaving Meng Chaojun’s study, Jiang Xiao thought about it but didn’t say much, and went downstairs.

After going down, Old Meng had already gotten up and was listening to Meng Sheng say that Jiang Xiao had come. He immediately strode out.

”Little, back home?”
