Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2833: Chapter 2769: Just Unwilling to Take a Vacation

”Old Ding, you’re overthinking it. I don’t have any plans to dismiss you guys right now. There’s still plenty of use for you. It’s just that I think we don’t need to be so tense, so I want to give you guys a break.”

”Give us a break?” Ding Haijing snorted, ”Did you ask for my opinion? How do you know I want a break?”

Jiang Xiao: ”...”

Role model employee from the eighties.

Should I give him an award?

Hmm, maybe not. An employee this good at talking back is rare in the world.

”You want to visit Teacher Liu, right? I’ll drive you there,” Ding Haijing said.

Jiang Xiao shook her head, thinking this guy was beyond help, too stubborn to change. Such an assertive bodyguard, she really had no way to handle it.

In her heart now, Ding Haijing truly wasn’t just a simple bodyguard anymore, and their relationship wasn’t merely employer and employee.

After all, there was the layer of relationship with Ding Fu and Jiang Shiheng.

Also, since they could talk about Dark Star, they felt even closer than with Guan Tiezhu and the others.

Ding Haijing drove her to the Academy of Fine Arts.

Liu Guoying was already up.

When Jiang Xiao arrived, she happened to see him taking a walk outside.

”Teacher!” Jiang Xiao walked over joyfully, ”Is your leg okay now?”

”It’s fine, it’s fine. I told you, after a good night’s sleep, it would be fine. See, right?” Liu Guoying said proudly, ”It’s always right to listen to me. Yesterday you were thinking of having me hospitalized, this girl up to no good, insisted on messing with me.”

”How is that up to no good?” Jiang Xiao broke into a sweat, ”I was just worried at the time, wasn’t I?”

”That’s why I told you not to worry.”

Cheng Qiulian came out and quickly asked Jiang Xiao, ”Have you had breakfast?”

”Shimu, I’ve already eaten.”

”I knew you would come over, just wanted to tell you, today I’m not going to the shop, taking a leave,” Cheng Qiulian said, ”But I heard Old He and Old Lee also took a leave?”

Today’s leave for Old He and Old Lee was directly approved by Jiang Xiao.

They also suffered minor injuries, Old Lee got grazed by a bullet, and Old He twisted a finger during the fight. Although they said it was nothing, Jiang Xiao still strongly advised them to take a break.

”Yes, I told them to take a break; they also helped out yesterday.” Jiang Xiao glanced at Liu Guoying, noticing he was winking at her.

She quickly realized that Liu Guoying hadn’t told Cheng Qiulian about the specifics of yesterday.

Well, there was nothing good to say, telling would only make her worry.

”They helped out yesterday? Then they should definitely take a break.” Cheng Qiulian said with a bit of hesitance, ”Then maybe I should go back to the shop.”

”No need, Shimu. You stay home and take care of the teacher today, I’ll go to the shop myself today and check if there’s anything to restock.”

”You’re not going to class today?”

”I’ve already requested a leave from the principal myself, and he approved it.”

”Alright then, I’ll just take a lazy day.”

Liu Guoying gave her a look and said, ”You still have to take care of me, how is that being lazy?”

”Yes, yes, I forgot your status is unmatched.”

Cheng Qiulian and Jiang Xiao couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Jiang Xiao went to Youqingwei, checked the stock, and roughly figured out what needed restocking, then felt a bit restless.

However, she rarely stayed in the shop, so she somehow managed to stick it out for the morning.

She didn’t go in the afternoon. Although the environment there was good, she preferred to relax with a few close friends chatting and having tea in such an environment. Being a store-sitting owner in the shop was not quite the same feeling.
