Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2171: Chapter 2107: Killing Three Birds with One Arrow

Two cans, that’s almost ten thousand, wasn’t the whole year in vain?

Gao Yan couldn’t help but want to scold him again seeing him like this.

He’s really incapable of achieving anything great.

”Am I buying these to drink myself? And besides, you’re called Da Zhi, why are you acting so unambitious? Just because we can’t afford it now doesn’t mean we won’t be able to in the future! You’re really hopeless!”

”I’m hopeless, indeed, but I really can’t afford tea that’s three thousand-something for five taels.”

”I already said I’m not buying it to drink myself. I’m taking it to give to Gao Wei’s family!”

Niu Dazhi widened his eyes again, ”That’s even crazier, giving such an expensive gift? Why don’t you just take eight thousand in cash instead!”

Just giving away such a huge sum of money like it was nothing?

Is his money blown in by the wind?

”How can you catch a wolf if you can’t bear to part with a child? Besides, in a family like the Gao Family’s, do you think tea costing three thousand-something is remarkable? Maybe in their eyes, it’s just a bit expensive, so if you give something too cheap, would they even care? If they don’t care, will they handle things properly for me?”

”But you don’t have to give something so expensive, right?” Niu Dazhi’s heart was aching.

”Didn’t I say so? I’m afraid they won’t care for cheap things! And also, the tea I’m giving isn’t just for any occasion. When the time comes, how will I mention Youqingwei? If there’s no good opportunity and you suddenly bring it up, will they listen? By then, when I present the tea and introduce it, once the Gao Family hears this tea is sold at such a high price, won’t they wonder if there’s something shady going on? If the price isn’t being jacked up randomly? I’ll add a few lines, like saying their boss beat someone up to the point they couldn’t get up on the street, do you think the Gao Family won’t see an opportunity?”

Niu Dazhi was taken aback.

”Is it really like that?”

”Of course!” Gao Yan said proudly, ”And that’s not all, didn’t you say Gao Wei is out looking for work? I heard he doesn’t want to work at the police station, complaining that the salary there is too low. I’m giving him a way out here.”

”How is that a way out?”

”Think about it, hasn’t Youqingwei’s business been booming all along? Their tea and snacks sell for such sky-high prices, how much can they make in a month?”

Hearing this, Niu Dazhi became excited, ”You’re right, I’m good at this kind of calculation. I’ve roughly calculated for them, they must have made at least thirty thousand since they opened!”

”Th-Thirty thousand?” Gao Yan was a bit stunned.

”Exactly, that’s unavoidable. Didn’t I visit their place and take a thorough look? I spent half a day watching the prices, and took a glance at what people were ordering at each table, it’s about right.”

He really has a knack for this sort of thing.

In fact, Niu Dazhi was not mistaken in his calculations.

Upon hearing this, Gao Yan grew even more confident, ”That’s right, if they’re making thirty thousand a month, if I stir the pot and make Gao Wei find a way to take over Youqingwei, even if he uses some trick to buy it, or pressure the owner into a partnership, wouldn’t he make at least fifteen thousand a month without having to work at all? This would earn him way more than any salary job, wouldn’t it?”

Niu Dazhi’s eyes lit up, ”Yes, yes, that’s the idea. Plus, if that tea house becomes Gao Wei’s, he has the connections to bring more customers in, the monthly income could go even higher, wow, he’d be making a fortune.”

Thinking about it this way, his eyes were turning red with envy.

Gao Yan slapped his thigh in excitement as well.
