Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2154: Chapter 2090: So Lovey-Dovey It’s Hard to Watch

Chiang Xiao was startled, and couldn’t help but say: ”Is that really necessary? My self-defense skills aren’t bad.”

Why did she still need to hire a bodyguard?

Those bodyguards weren’t even as skilled as she was.

”Listen, sometimes having one or two more people can lend a hand. How do your skills compare to mine?”

Even he wouldn’t dare say he could completely defeat the opponent, let alone her?

Of course, if it was a direct face-to-face duel, he was confident that his skills wouldn’t be inferior and he had a chance to win. But how likely was the opponent to fight fairly?

What if they pulled a gun right from the start?

Seeing that Chiang Xiao was still somewhat reluctant, he immediately said: ”Then I’ll talk to Dad about this.”

”No, no, no, I’ll do it, okay?” Chiang Xiao was afraid he might make it sound too serious, causing her father to worry too much.

He had just undergone surgery not long ago, and afterwards there were also Jiang Family matters to attend to. How could she burden him with everything?

Chiang Xiao sighed helplessly, ”Speaking of which, Brother Xinian, can’t I just find a bodyguard myself? I feel like if this comes up, they’ll be too worried about me.”

She truly didn’t want her surroundings to be filled with bodyguards in the future, always having someone watch her wouldn’t be pleasant.

Meng Xinian thought for a moment and said: ”If you don’t want Jiang Family’s bodyguards, then how about the ones I find for you?”

”The ones you find?”

”I know some people who retired from special forces, and they have to find jobs and support their families too. Usually, if they find other jobs, the salary won’t be very high. Since you’re going to hire someone anyway, why not hire them? I can assure you, they’re very disciplined and discreet.”

Upon saying this, he also felt that the people he found were the most suitable.

Chiang Xiao immediately nodded, ”Can you find someone who can drive too?”

”Are you going to buy a car?” Meng Xinian was startled.

”I probably won’t use it myself, feels a bit too flashy, but Youqingwei does need it sometimes to deliver goods, and if customers buy a lot, it can help with delivery.”

So she’s genuinely planning to buy a car and hire a driver, it would be useful in any case.

And wouldn’t it be convenient for her father too?

The handicraft workshop over there also needs to get rolling, so the people she’ll need to hire shouldn’t be few. Might as well register a company.

Chiang Xiao became interested, discussing these matters with Meng Xinian.

Finally, she and Meng Xinian decided to hire six people. Initially, she wasn’t on board, thinking six might be too many.

But Meng Xinian said it would be best if she always had someone with her when going out, so they would need shifts, and hiring a couple more just in case was necessary.

Chiang Xiao couldn’t outargue him and had to agree.

The only consolation was that she wasn’t short on money.

In any case, she had the funds, hiring a few more wouldn’t be a problem.

”As for the registration matters, let’s leave it to Chen Yin for now. He’s familiar with these things and should be able to handle them smoothly.”

Chiang Xiao nodded.

In the past few days, Meng Xinian really has been almost inseparable, taking her to school and back, accompanying her to the hospital, and then going home together.

According to Liu Guoying, he’s practically become her shadow.

Because while Chiang Xiao was in class, Meng Xinian was waiting in Liu Guoying’s office.

As soon as class ended, the two of them would cozy up in his office, and he was too fed up to even look.
