Chapter 2098: Chapter 2034: Just Worried It Won’t Work Out

But they didn’t get married yesterday.

This caused him to have a bit of obscure worry in his heart.

Meng Chaojun is suffering from a tumor.

Although he’s undergoing chemotherapy right now, it’s heard that many people can’t be cured of this disease.

In case he passes away just like that, Meng Xinian and Chiang Xiao have to hurry up and get married within a month; otherwise, it won’t be proper to have a celebration during mourning.

However, he doesn’t dare to bring this matter up with Meng Xinian and Chiang Xiao, fearing it will upset them, and fearing they’ll overthink, suspecting him of cursing Meng Chaojun to die early.

Perhaps because he is a rural person, and people in the countryside often talk about such matters without avoidance, so he also thought more about it.

He’s already been thinking about finding an opportunity to inquire about Meng Chaojun’s condition.

Old Meng sighed and said, ”It’s just like that, no improvement, and no worsening for now. The doctor said to keep taking medicine and continue with chemotherapy.”

Then, keep observing and see.

Neither good nor bad.

However, no worsening isn’t a great relief for them, as there’s also no improvement.

This kind of disease is unpredictable; it could worsen at any time.

Speaking of this, he couldn’t help but sigh again, ”Thinking about it, I wonder if Little and Xinian are sympathetic because both Chaojun and Little’s dad have brain...”

Chiang Xiao and Meng Xinian didn’t disclose the details about Ah Liu’s surgery, so everyone thought it was a previous brain injury that required a craniotomy.

It’s actually unknown that it’s because there’s a crystal inside the brain.

When Old Meng mentioned it, Chiang Songhai couldn’t help but nod, and it’s indeed true.

”Do you think these two kids will be heavily burdened?” He couldn’t help but ask, ”Little’s dad’s surgery should cost a lot, right?”

He knows Chiang Xiao has earned quite a lot of money, but in the eyes of rural folks, brain surgery is an unimaginable procedure, always feeling the costs must be astronomical.

Plus with Meng Chaojun’s situation, he doesn’t know if those two kids can afford it.

He doesn’t actually know whether the Meng Family has money, but when he was in City M, he also inquired, chemotherapy costs a lot too.

Old Meng said, ”Chaojun’s medical expenses are covered by the public funds.”

But those medicines they foolishly sought from outside doctors earlier weren’t covered by public funds.

Later, when Chiang Xiao’s potion required money, a substantial amount was given.

But they didn’t feel bad about giving that money to Chiang Xiao.

”That’s good.” Chiang Songhai innocently responded, realized it might be inappropriate, and quickly steered the topic back, ”How long does Xinian’s father have to continue chemotherapy?”

”This can’t be predicted, if he recovers, then no need to continue.”

Old Meng didn’t continue with what he considered, if there’s no recovery, then there’s no need.

In fact, this matter weighed heavily on his mind, constantly keeping him tense, not knowing when Meng Chaojun’s condition might change.

”In life, health and peace are essential, everything else isn’t important.”

Chiang Songhai sighed.

Old Meng nodded in agreement, ”Indeed.”

When Meng Xinian returned from buying groceries, Old Meng and Chiang Songhai had almost finished their conversation.

It was time to prepare lunch, so Chiang Songhai stood up and went to the kitchen to start cooking, and after resting for a while, Ge Liutao also got up and went to the kitchen to help.

Meng Xinian entered the living room, poured a glass of water, drank it, and asked Old Meng, ”Grandpa mentioned he had something to discuss with me, what is it?”

Bringing up this matter, Old Meng felt extremely awkward and struggled in his heart.
