Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1817: Chapter 1753: He Does Have Something on His Mind

Old Meng was quite happy talking about these things, but when it came to the next few sentences, he was a bit anxious, worried that Chiang Xiao might disagree.

”About the banquet that day, Little, your dad and I have discussed it, and we decided not to eat out. We’ll have it at our old house, just one table, only our family. We’ll ask Aunt Guo to get a couple of people to help cook. We’ll arrange to have your grandparents brought over too, and do the tea ceremony and name change there. Do you think that’s okay?”

Old Meng looked at Chiang Xiao.

Chiang Xiao smiled slightly, ”Okay.”

She had no objection to this.

Besides, cooking and such over here would require her to clean up, and she probably wouldn’t feel like doing chores that day.

Seeing her agree, Old Meng laughed heartily.

”Great, great! So, do you guys want to pick a time to go back and decorate your room? It should have the look of a new house.”

Meng Xinian said, ”Grandpa, I’ve already arranged the new room here.”

He didn’t even let Chiang Xiao stay in that room now.

Old Meng paused for a moment and said, ”It doesn’t matter whether you stay or not, that’s your room together. Decorating it a bit for some festive mood is good.”

What if you ever need to stay there?

Meng Xinian was about to speak when Chiang Xiao held his hand and said, ”Okay, Grandpa, I’ll find some time to go back and decorate. On this matter, Brother Xinian will listen to me.”

”Right, right, since you study painting, your taste is definitely better than his.” Old Meng was happy again.

Meng Xinian whispered in Chiang Xiao’s ear, ”See, the man you chose really has an excellent taste.”

Chiang Xiao couldn’t help but pinch his waist.

Shameless.

After dinner, Old Meng and Meng Sheng left. Meng Xinian cleaned up the table and washed dishes, while Chiang Xiao went to prepare medicine for Ah Liu, adding Spirit Spring Water and watched him drink it.

”Little, the hospital report should be out by tomorrow, right?”

”It should be out by the afternoon. Grandpa Chen will help to get it, and I asked Grandpa Chen to prescribe medicine for you after he sees the report.”

”I want to get better as soon as possible.”

Chiang Xiao looked at him with some surprise.

It seemed that he had never said something like this before, probably to avoid putting too much pressure on her. Regarding his own injuries, Ah Liu had always appeared rather indifferent.

Why did he suddenly want to recover quickly now?

Ah Liu said, ”It’s nothing, I’m a bit tired, I’ll go wash up and rest first. You and Xinian should rest early too.”

”Okay.”

Chiang Xiao came out of his room, Meng Xinian had already cleaned up. Seeing her thoughtful look, he lightly pinched her cheek and asked, ”What are you thinking about?”

”Dad seems to have remembered quite a few things. I feel like there are still some things he hasn’t told me.”

Meng Xinian thought about Ah Liu’s behavior today, nodded, and said, ”Indeed, Uncle Six has something on his mind.” He paused and said, ”But you don’t need to worry, Uncle Six is very smart and composed. I think it might not be that he doesn’t want to tell you, but he wants to sort them out himself first.”

”Maybe.” Chiang Xiao sighed softly.

Actually, she wasn’t very worried.

After mentioning Chen Zhu today and seeing Ah Liu’s reaction, she realized she had underestimated Ah Liu’s psychological fortitude and open-mindedness in the past.

She had originally thought he would feel humiliated and that this matter would be hard for him to get over. Unexpectedly, he didn’t resent Chen Zhu; he even advised her and said that such things shouldn’t only blame the woman.

Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but say to Meng Xinian, ”I really feel that Dad is a very good person.”
