Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1653: Chapter 1655: What Will He Think

So, who exactly is Ah Liu, what is his identity?

Or rather, is there something on him, or has he learned something he shouldn’t know, leading those people to pursue him for so many years without giving up?

It’s just that now it’s hard to say, and he probably can’t remember it himself either.

And what caused the damage to his intelligence?

If Ah Liu knew about that period with Chiang Qingzhu back then, what would he think?

Seeing her, what would he think?

Chiang Xiao hypothetically pondered, if it were her, she would probably hate Chiang Qingzhu to the core and might regard that period as the shame of her life.

Then, is the child born under such circumstances also something he wants to abandon?

Seeing her, would it remind him of the shame?

What kind of feelings could he have for such a child?

Originally, mothers have a natural affection for their children due to the connection of blood and bond during the ten months of pregnancy; fathers, however, do not possess this sentiment.

Now, even Chiang Qingzhu, her biological mother, is completely indifferent to her, doesn’t care about her at all, cruel enough to abandon her and neither ask nor care for ten years. What more of a father who doesn’t even know of her existence?

Chiang Xiao’s thoughts came one after another. The more she thought, the more she felt that even if that person was really her father, he might not like her. If his intelligence has recovered to a nearly normal range, he might even resent her for appearing, for reminding him of such a shame.

If he harshly reprimands her, speaks ill of her, if he tells her to leave and doesn’t even want to speak much with her, then what should she do?

Chiang Xiao repeatedly asked herself, then what should she do?

But Meng Xinian held her hand, pulling back her attention.

Though he was also on the move, he had been paying attention to her.

He noticed that at first, she was looking at the scenery, but gradually she became distracted, her expression increasingly off, and with a little speculation, he guessed what must be on her mind at this moment.

”Little, didn’t you promise me? No matter what the result is, try to handle it with normalcy.” He whispered, ”No matter what, you have me.”

Chiang Xiao took a deep breath and said, ”Brother Xinian, I understand.”

”Don’t overthink it. We’ll be there soon, and we’ll talk after meeting.”

”Okay.”

Cheng Cheng turned his head and said, ”Are you afraid? Don’t worry, the godfather is really good.”

Chiang Xiao nodded.

Meng Xinian held her hand, and yet felt her palm slightly sweating.

She must still be a bit nervous.

It seems that this is normal.

After another stretch, a few flat houses came into their view.

Sidao Gou, arrived.

The houses looked quite old, with some walls already blackened and mossy.

The houses were quite distant from each other, but they were all planted with fruit trees, some with pigsties and chicken coops, and cow sheds built.

The vegetables in the fields also looked somewhat yellowed.

An economic backwardness could be sensed everywhere.

”Mine is the most rundown,” Cheng Cheng smiled bitterly, ”And it’s been renovated once. Most of my stipend went to buying medicine for my godfather, but his chronic headache never improved even though the medicine has been taken continuously.”

Chiang Xiao listened in silence.

Meng Xinian still held her hand.

A few children ran over. At first, they were startled when they saw them, hiding themselves away, yet still secretly observing.

This village really seemed to rarely have outsiders come in.

No wonder Ah Liu said it’s safe here.
